We're way past the ducks situation now. No way uncle phil allows the tanking of his team.
Yes they sold everyone the rebuild is over.. so we are in the dreaded black hole right? Blake has the resources to get the team out of that, but this years team is a slightly over .500 team and not heading in the right direction... Im rooting for them to get into the playoffs again but without a 1C and a more effective d-corps and goalie I dont see them advancing far.. its could happen like it happened w Montreal, but its unlikely.

Actually the Kings biggest problem is the pacific division sucking a gigantic trash bag of dicks since it gives them the illusion of contending which means rob and Tm are safe and free to surf because they can constantly sell tha they’re ‘in the chase’

Before the road trip I was mad, now I’m just over it. Not worth getting emotionally invested anymore until anything at all changes.

He needs to be f***ing gone. Anything less than that means the person who doesn’t let him go should be let go instead. I don’t care how bent the Kings get on doing it. I would not want a loser in my locker room. f*** the price on getting rid of him. Take the L and move on but kick the cancer out.
I've really tried hard to resist getting to this point, but it's here. It's a costly-ass mulligan, but so it goes. Dude seems like a nice enough guy but simply doesn't have the toolbox to be an NHL goaltender that's worth even the 1B label.

No #1 center.
No #1 defenseman.
No #1 goaltender.

Pretty much this.

Sucks to see Kopitar drop off so dramatically. Knew it was coming eventually, but still sucks to see it happen. And it hurts even more that Kopitars heir apparent might turn out to be a bust.

Yea its a glaring issue. Hes not a 1c anymore. He played great vs Edmonton but it took a lot out of him and it was a defensive performance while his offense was dry that game.
Retain half if you have to. He would be so good as a 2c in Colorado.
Him and Doughty being traded has to be considered. Maybe Toronto wants Doughty with their defense corp hurt.
They both have an NMC so will be tough. Toronto is dumb/desperate enough to take on all that salary of DD - that would be a possibility since I could see Drew wanting to go try to help his hometown team win.. Kopi if he waived his NMC there would be interest with retention. My guess is for PR sake they wont do anything drastic with Kopi and just let him come off the books in 24/25 sign him for small deal if he's interested in 3C for a year or two.

He's way too slow to be a 2C in Colorado.

Still too early to panic, but this team is pretty much a .500 team that needs a lot of improvements moving forward. This was one of Kopi's worst games and his age is starting to show, and the goaltending is horrific right now. We don't outgun our opponent not sure if either goalies can steal a game for us. Just depressing especially being there in person. First game since Covid and it wasn't pretty at least after the first period.

Nick mentioned in the postgame show that the Kings only have one win this season against a division rival. Here comes the inevitable loss against the Sharks on Friday.

Well, I said Byfield's summer was the most important thing for this team. Vilardi's insane start masked it but now here we are: we don't have an elite #1C and you basically don't win a Cup without one.

Blake’s not firing the coach. Even if he wanted to after tonight, who believes he would have done 5 minutes of work to research a replacement.

Last time the team went in the toilet, we got Pit Boss Willie behind the bench. We all know that zero thought went into that decision.
Pit boss - thats funny

I mean, it is what it is at this point. This is a bipolar .500 team who's only consistency is shit special teams. Until Blake gets off his ass, that's just not going to change. Mclellan isn't going to change, and Blake isn't going to fire him. The aging vets who were once the cornerstone of the franchise are not going to find the fountain of youth and get better. The glaring holes that many saw coming into the season (LD, Goaltending, and toughness) are not going to just magically get filled. So until something happens, there will just be more of the same

Yep feels like a DL - Sutter situation. DL was never gonna fire DS so they were both canned. I'm willing to give Blake more time, but Todd needs to go.

I really don’t understand shitting on cal for a goal like that, when he has stopped other grade-A chances in the same game.

The team simply is not playing hockey that sustainably brings wins. No goaltender is going to fix it on its own.
This team do not have capable D, period

Edler and Moverare do not belong in NHL.

Walker should be 7th defender on good team

Roy and Anderson should be playing on third pairing for contending team.

Cal made a mistake on 4th goal, but he was very good the rest of the game.

Just logged in after a year or two to say Anderson looks brutal. Cue Anderson apologists.
I do not understand why majority of Kings fans are refusing to admit it…

Icing this defense is on Blake. You bought a crap meal and because you've spent money on it you're forcing everyone to eat it when there are better options available to you in your damn refrigerator.

Cal does not look comfortable in net at all. As has been said over and over a lot of it is between his ears, but the other part of it is the defensive coverage is so godawful that he has to constantly second guess himself. That Krieder goal short side last night was pretty inexcusable, you have to get to the post on that.

DS inflicted a lot more damage before he was booted.

It's real simple guys, until TM leads this team OUT of a playoff berth in a year that they are expected to be there, he ain't getting fired. Save your energy...cause you ain't even close.
