Kempe has always taken 5 to 10 games off at a time right? he'll come back and we'll forget how bad he was for awhile and then he'll go back to hibernation again and we'll get rightfully pissed.. im thinkings he'll get 25 goals 15 assists this year
While, I think you're right in that Kempe is definitely struggling and he isn't a play driver; in the end, Kopitar's loss of offensive ability is the #1 paralyzer of the top line. He is still an alright player, but he has no ability to drive offense anymore. He still has defensive utility, but his offensive ability is limited to skating down the half-wall and trying to hold the puck and kick it to someone who can do something with it. At this point, he is the 3rd line center. Danault is the second, Lizotte and Kupari are both 4th, and we are just flat-out missing a first.
That’s generous. When Frolov wasn’t scoring, at least he could wear down the opposition’s defense with his cycling. Kempe doesn’t do anything.
