No, because you can't handle the evidence without running for the hills, as you've done here.

And without the sarcasm it's not about Vilardi or Kopi are 'doomed' it's about managing their efforts, something that's been a consistent complaint from people who don't lick TM's boots, regardless of the players.

Sorry, eye candy analytics are not evidence of f***all

There is no better evidence of "I've lost the argument" than a lazy and weak variation of "if you knew so much/better you would be a coach/GM".

ESPN + /Hulu.

If you ever can find the game, check the first post of the GDT. Kingsboy11 always includes the channel that the game is on
ESPN+ and Hulu are streaming platforms......does that mean the Kings games against the Hawks and Wild was not televized on broadcast TV?

This is a great time. We have the forward depth to argue about different line combinations where there are different ones that may actually work & Iafallo is still out. Team is over 0.500, even with Todd doing some crazy stuff. Just need a younger version of Edler & Quick to get hot by the deadline.

Raw counting stats aren't analytics.

You can go by raw counting stats, analytics, or the eye test, they all say the same thing, with or without context.

There are literally no excuses in this scenario, facts are facts, none of these stupid emotional responses matter, no matter how deep one can throat TM's boot.

Hell at one point last year we had done the homework to see at what point Kopi's game got less effective and we had it nailed down to a 30 second threshold he shouldn't cross but the only counter argument was "nuh uh" so forgive me for being short and 'f*** you' about it when people aren't interested in actual discussion. It is what it is, wrestle with reality.

More fancy stats analysis homework I stole from Jon Rosen:

"Kopitar’s on-ice rates per 60 minutes in Corsi-against, Fenwick-against, shots-against, expected goals-against and scoring chances-against are the highest of any season of his career, while his high-danger chances percentage and team save percentage are the lowest of his career."

And this totally supports the eye test that most of us with the gift of sight have seen this season. He's 35 y'all. He can't be trotted out there and deployed like he has when he was younger. That's the point.

I’m not sure who you’re arguing with because I have all the insincere trolling dick bags on ignore, but this is exactly right. When someone trots out that argument, they are actually conceding. You’ve won the argument and they have nothing else to say but “yeah well what team do YOU coach?”. It’s a loser’s way of surrendering their points while trying to save face in the conversation.

That's funny, people who put put others on IGNORE preaching about being insincere, being a loser and surrendering argument points. "I'm gonna talk a bunch a shit on you, but I don't have to see your response'...yeah, that's not hypocritical at all.

I've been complaining about Kopitar's game and usage for years.

But I think he looks better and sharper this season than I've seen him in awhile since they put Gabe on his wing.

Which brings us full circle--this is Gabe and Anze being good for one another but we can't conflate Gabe elevating Anze for Anze 'getting better,' and we definitely don't want to shift the load of savior to Gabe, who has been notably less productive due to matchups, minutes, linemates.

Which is supportive of the usual argument which is equalize the minutes of the top 3 lines some more so the kids can get in a rhythm while the elders don't die before midseason (see: Playoff Kopitar last year getting absolutely railroaded).

We don't necessarily know that. Correlation doesn't always equal causality.

Too small of a sample size to say that. It's extremally unlikely he was going to maintain the scoring pace he opened the season with regardless of where you put him.

The Kings have also been shifting the way they play since the beginning of the season, and IMO, have run into some hot goaltenders recently.

Yes, I agree.

Define productive......I keep circling back to the Kings of 2010, 2011, where everyone was bitching about goals scored etc and we need more, but because we weren't scoring major changes were needed etc, meanwhile ignoring that the chances were there, it's the same argument here....

Vilardi is less productive......but he sure as f*** ain't less dangerous.....he's playing his best hockey of his careeer right now....seems regardless of who he pairs with.....I just don't buy the fact that Kopitar, one of the best in the game, is now dragging lines down........

And the axiom is still true, there are three types of lies, lies, damn lies, and statistics,

I think you have to be on crack to not see that Kopitar looks 60. He plays so much. I do think it’s interesting that Kopitar and Kempe look like shit while Vilardi is by far the most dominant player on that line.

Not to mention that following his hot start Gabe will now been seen as a danger man. No matter who his C is teams were going to start paying him extra attention. I completely agree about spreading the minutes and if playing Vilardi with Kopitar has helped get him going (my interpretation is that it’s the right chemistry) I don’t see why that’s a bad thing (Not suggesting that’s your take RJ). We really do find the weirdest shit to get upset about on here at times.

There's zero denying it at this point other than from the most delusional. Yes, the season is still young, but Kopi's posting career worst rates in a bunch of categories. That's not to say he's bad, but he's not even close to being the Kopi we once knew. And his TOI has been steadily rising...

All totally fair responses/critiques.

I do think the chemistry is nails. I think they do help each other, if I'm being totally honest. I'm just worried about the minutes.
