This is the Kings 11th game in a 20 day span.

They've had consecutive days off only once so far this season, and that involved a 3000 mile flight from Washington to LA.

Union mandated days off have also limited practice time.

Clarke scratched again???
I wonder if they are waffling about having him stay up for the season.. otherwise what purpose does it serve for him to sit, and play Walker who has no future with the club (that I can see).

Maybe shopping Walker for a trade? Otherwise I don't know, either play him and get him to his 9 games and send him back down, or keep him up full-time.

We are united! We’re undivided!
We stand together, never less!
In any weather, a Kings a King forever!
Together, we are Los Angeles!

And please don't take my sunshine away...

Been meaning to ask this question...so once he's played more than 9 games and he's unable to be sent down to juniors, can they then send him to the AHL?

after 9 games he has to stick with the club and begins his ELC. He cant be sent to Ontario due to the age limit being 20 or older. This was all set up so Junior hockey doesnt get destroyed and makes teams want to keep their players in Juniors longer.

I'm okay with Clarke being scratched occasionally.

But ultimately I would prefer he be sent back to junior. I don't think there's any reason to keep him up and burn a full year of his ELC.

I would like to see Spence get in some games over one of Durzi/Walker.

Let's try & cut down the breakaways & odd man rushes against on the King's PP. Also maybe try & cover the guy standing in front of the net on the PK.

Baby steps.

I think the Kings will wait until the losses and injuries pile up around the NHL to make a move. There has to be some desperate teams with GM's that are desperate for some veteran talent. Calling Columbus, ditto Arizona. As for Clarke I don't Blake wants to burn a year off the young Defenseman just yet

I wonder if we should send Clarke back to juniors? He looks like he has the offensive prowess to stay in the NHL, but he's also not a great skater nor does he look especially strong, which is to be expected for a 19 year old.

What does that even mean?

We have this special looking offensive weapon who is just a kid

Let's not deploy him as such, let's roll him out on the LEFT side and give him PK time instead of on the right side and with PP time

Just for starters

Hey maybe its just trying to see what he's got but the team is better with Clarke on it, sending him down sends the wrong message...as usual. You can be a kid and crush it but if you're waiver eligible, you can't 'earn' it over an underperforming vet, whether it makes the team and you better in both the short term and long term or not.

Hasn't happened yet so not trying to get ahead of myself, but you asked...I'd love to start having more faith in them but the above rules have held true for years now. Let's see what happens.

I thought it’s been confirmed that they are keeping him up…what am I missing?

With how much they tried to make him f*** up, i wouldn't be surprised to see them send Clarke back to juniors at this point. would just be the OHL version of the waiver/youth games they play incessantly with players under 25.

They tried to make him f***up? Elaborate?

he stated above....basically said the org has handcuffed him offensively, tried him on the left side, not enough PP time....all of it done so that the kid fails and they get to send him back to juniors (even though it's basically been confirmed that he's staying with the big club). Utter nonsense.
