Very concerned about the back end on the PK. But if Eakins gets a clue and stops splitting up our best scorers on the PP, it could be dangerous.

I feel with the offensive additions, they can actually outscore their D issues. When you had no offense or defense, you got post TDL Ducks hockey. At least with the offense, they can keep the puck in the opponents zone and not be one and done, that will help on the other end. I just worry about the PK like you said, and getting pinned in their own zone. Gibson will be challenged but he should hopefully get his goal support.

Yeah the PK is going to HURT on D.

Silfver, Lundy, Grant, Fowler, Carrick, Benoit and Shatty. THose were your PK leaders last season, Minus Lindhom and Manson.

Your first impression is everything. Unless they can get the sweetheartiest of all sweetheart deals, I wouldn’t blame Verbeek if he never wanted to deal with Vegas again after what they pulled given their prior rep around the league

Unless teams are stealing from Vegas, Im not sure many want to make or take that phone call.

Vegas wants to trader him for cap reasons... Word is he wants to return to cali.. Ducks only option.. Sj and Kings dont want him.

Ducks and the newly led Lincoln Riley USC Trojans are going to be very similar, all offense zero defense.

Currently our D pairings probably look like the below:

Fowler Klingberg
Vaakanainen Drysdale
Benoit Shattenkirk
Mahura

On the PP you would use Klingberg on the first unit and Drysdale and Fowler on the second. On the PK is where we would struggle. I think we need a lot more bite and defensive ability to help out there.

That right side is very very one dimensional, our left side brings a bit more in terms of defensive ability. Ideally we could get someone to come in and provide some grit and defensive ability, pushing Shattenkirk out of the lineup.

Here is the first PP unit I want to see:

Net front - Comtois/McTavish
Bumper - Henrique/Strome
Left half wall - Terry
Right half wall - Zegras
QB - Klingberg

And that unit should get 75% of the time on the PP.

The PP has a ton of weapons, I think maybe Mctavish on the right half wall just to utilize that shot and a one-time option. Maybe Terry in the bumper with Zegras on the left half wall. After writing that, it seems silly to prioritize Mctavish over Terry lol. Either way, a lot of options.

We are going surprise alot of people this year.. McTavish will tear it up.. Verbeek will look to add defensive d by td.
