Rangers fans are insufferable on the mains.

lol at the some of the hot take merchants "Avs are cooked - no repeat for them " (halfway through game 2).

Georgiev is a damn good goalie. Rags fans try to convince otherwise, but f*ck them.

Unpopular opinion: Leafs going deep is good for the NHL. They have the biggest fanbase in the sport. Why not be happy for them to (finally) get out of the 1st round?? Especially if it means knocking out the Bolts??

Whatever. I hope they never win another game. Their entitled goober fans can cry a river of tears in which I will happily swim.

Because they have equally if not more insufferable fans as the Rags do and they descend on the mains like a plague with all their hot takes

District of Champions
Vanecek looks absolutely terrible
Sammy was always the one with the higher upside. Vanny is a great backup or 1B option but he’s probably not a guy you can ride if you want to win a Cup. He doesn’t have the size or athleticism to be a legitimate 1A. He’s certainly capable of getting hot but his numbers were no better this year than they were last year but the Devils scored so much all they needed was league average goaltending in order to be good during the regular season. Vanny was what he was — a goaltender with limited physical gifts who was technically sound and who worked his ass off. He was easy to root for and a guy you could win with but not win because of, except for isolated stretches.

Sammy on the other hand was maddening because he has the athletic profile to be a Vezina candidate. There are few goalies in the NHL that can match his size and explosiveness in net. That he never improved his technique and didn’t seem to have the mental makeup of a number one was either immaturity on his part and not taking his craft seriously or bad coaching, or most likely a combination of both. Attaching himself to Kuznetsov as his mentor didn’t help things. It would have been nice if they could have kept him around but I understand why they didn’t. It won’t surprise me if he’s in the discussion of top 10 goalies in the league in a year or two.

I felt bad for him last night, the Devils hung him out to dry. I have no idea what their coaches and PKers are thinking. They have 3 guys collapse on Kane, one on Z-bad, and leave Kreider alone, sitting in the crease for all those tip PPGs.

Defensively the whole team looks dumbstruck and just puck watches. Offensively Hughes tries to go 1 on 3 and gets taken off the puck. Meier looks uncomfortable, and Hischier has been useless.

Not surprised that the Rangers are winning, just didn’t think it would look this easy.

1 ex Cap goalie doing well

Fun seeing Flower at the bottom.

By the old fashioned eye test, Oettinger and Korpisalo have been the best so far. Korpi has gotten shelled, but has kept the Kings in games, and their hard work and persistence (and 1-3-1) seems to wear the Oil down, allowing them to rally late.

Too lazy to look it up, but why did the Dev's sit out Siegenthaler or was he hurt?

Him hoisting the Cup again is why I’d be fine seeing Boston win it all.

I would be ok with that and like to see Hathaway win one. Only team in the East right now I can say that about, lol.

Because Lindy Ruff is a huge moron
He is. You have to wonder what his thinking was?? We'll play Brendan Smith because he is the most experienced player we've got, AND he played for the Rangers for 5 seaons!

Then again it doesn't matter who plays or who sits - the Devils just aren't ready for the playoffs. This season was really an overachievement for them. I don't think many had picked them to be in the playoffs?

I’m sure it’s as simple as “we need to get tough because it’s Playoff Hockey” so he put in a meathead to replace Siegenthaler.
