If he did a squat with his legs closed you'd never know he was behind them. Without trying to kickoff another "goalie pads are too big" discussion but damn... goalie pads are WAY too big!

Is it just me or does he have no tape on his stick at all(on the blade) ? I have never seen a goalie do that before…. ever…..

ya strange.....but there is a rule for knob size for goalie sticks
10.2 Goalkeeper’s Stick: Goalies must have a knob of white tape or some other protective material approved by the League at the top of their goalie stick shaft. Said knob can be no less than 1/2″ thick.”

Is that actually a thing? I don't spend much if my time on the main boards but I remember peeking in on a new mask thread at some point and wondering how in the hell that guy managed to carve out a career for himself!
His masks all look the same to me. Clutter as much crap on them as you can and then throw in excessive bolts of lightning and a billion little light flare spots.
I'm shocked that nobody else seems to have stepped in and cleaned up after him.
Yeah, those pads are incredibly wide and the gloves and blocker are massive.
Also, no tape on the blade of his stick.
Goalie gear used to be so massive back then

True but you have to take in the fact goalies were much smaller, the equipment was much heavier and just overall inferior, and ability to move isn’t even worth debating. I was fine with them having that equipment like in the era of the picture you showed. It was until guys started to adjust and the equipment got a little better that it started becoming a problem.Yeah, those pads are incredibly wide and the gloves and blocker are massive.

Yeah most people hate them but there's always a few who derail it by saying he must be good because so many goalies use him and that it's the goalies who want too much stuff because there's always one or two masks which aren't atrocious.

What the heck? Those Konekt Skates look like those "Adult Leisure Skates" you get at Canadian Tire.
How does a ratchet closure like that even work in a goalie skate? Make a pad save and your skate just comes undone and falls off in the middle of play? lol.

People laughed at Bauer when they came out with the cowlingless holder and said that goalies would be dealing with broken feet. Now it is the standard.
Vasy played in them through the SC finals. Charlie Lindgren played in them through the CC finals. They stay closed just fine.
