Bounced back but never recovered from the opening onslaught. Terrible 3 point shooting and too much driving looking for fouls instead of points. Suns D owned them.

Saw it clearly today. C's closed the 3rd with a rush to get to within 1, Tatum sits to start the 3rd, and the second unit led by JB got hammered so hard the team never recovered.

Another troublesome pattern, Brogdon got killed last night. His defense just isn't there anymore. I was the leader of the Brogdon bandwagon too. Mea culpa. Not sure they can trade PP now. They do need an above average all-around forward, and I am not sure there is one to be had. Obi Toppin interests me, but he is obviously not at the level they need.

on to Detroit we go Monday @ 7pm; NBCSB

Maine loses in 1st of two vs. College Park;

Kyrie article/opinion:

if the Lakers are cash strapped roster wise since the majority of the $ is split between AD/Lebron, and the best they could do is Hachimura off the bench (already opined upon on NBA TV), what makes them believe Kyrie is an upgrade knowing the history between Kyrie and Lebron..... why would the LA Media need the added distraction of the Lakers' dysfunction.... isn't that what has already occurred with the ownership/management level...

latest Irving article/opinion from Mass Live;

Oh my gosh - I hope he's OK. :laugh:

from espn.com:

One day after he requested a trade, Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving will not play in Saturday's game against the Washington Wizards because of right calf soreness, the team announced.

On Friday, Irving told the Nets that he wants out of Brooklyn ahead of Thursday's trade deadline after failing to negotiate terms on a long-term contract extension, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Irving did not attend Saturday's pregame walkthrough, and Nets coach Jacque Vaughn said it was unclear whether Irving would attend Saturday's game. Vaughn said he spent Friday speaking to each player on the roster individually, including Irving, but Vaughn said he did not ask Irving why he had requested a trade.

IT'S BACK to what Stephen A. Stated back when Irving said he wanted nothing to do w/ Brooklyn proper and ended up playing road games only..... remember KD is tired of this sidebar too it's why Harden bolted for Ben Simmons, like that's your 3rd option now even if Durant's hurt; Clippers reportedly in play but why Ballmer thinks Kyrie is the centerpiece of the new Clipper arena once they leave Crypto

San Antonio could be a partner in the Irving trade sidebar;

and no Steph Curry as a left leg injury has derailed the Warriors run to repeat; out several weeks/indefinitely

Holy cow! The Nets did extremely well here. They get two underrated all around players and a first for someone who will be having fist fights to get the ball away from Doncic-or Doncic will have a fist fight with Kyrie, depends how you look at it.

Mark Cuban just screwed up his chances to run for the President of the United States. What will Kevin Durant do? Dallas presently 28-26 .519 9.5 GB, lets see how Kyrie improves these numbers. This is a good move for the Celtics: Kyrie goes to the West & Warriors Steph Curry out multi weeks. Any other good news for Boston? Can we get insurance for KW III before the trade deadline?

At least the dumba** didn't end up with the Lakers. The rumored deal I hear was Kyrie and Joe Harris to the Lakers for Westbrook and 2007 and 2009 1st round picks. There might have been some other junk included by both teams to make it work for the salary cap. That sure sounds a lot better then what Brooklyn ended up with. Kyrie on the Lakers would have scared the crap out of me as there was a 50% chance this would make the Lakers an immediate contender.....of course there was also a 50% chance there would have been a huge implosion on the Lakers.

I know a lot of us here are still mad about Kyrie leaving after proclaiming his intentions to return to the Celtics. But I know that I'm glad he didn't stick around to poison our team ( especially young guys like Tatum and Brown ) with all of his off-court BS. I think Boston fans should give him a standing ovation the next time he plays here and thank him for leaving. :nod:
