Lehkonen never dogs it, so that's not comparable really. It'd be like getting a worse Bura that has is a lazier player. JTC or Erod would be better options at that spot than Roslovic. At least considering we don't have to give up anything to get them.
If you can get Roslovic motivated, he's a far better fit for the 2C role. He can legit play there, if he motivated. That is the whole crux of the issue.

Fair. But would we want to pin our hope of repeating on Roslovic at 2C? I'd much rather pay more to get a legit solution. At least at this TDL.

If the Avs go on a bit of a run here, I'll almost be convinced that they will be comfortable playing J.T. Compher as the 2C and looking for a different centre for the 3rd line. Names like Nick Bonino, Pius Suter, Oskar Sundqvist, and Sean Monahan come to mind. Obviously Monahan costs way more cap than the others. For argument's sake say it is Bonino, the Avs could be looking at:

Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Rodrigues
Nichushkin - Compher - Rantanen
Landeskog - Bonino - Newhook/Malgin
Cogliano - Helm - O'Connor

Not the worst thing in the world, but also a clear step below last season's Cup winning team.

If they keep Rantanen on the second line, they can get by with a worse 2C. He just does things offensively that none of the other wings on the team can do, and JTC needs that. To Compher’s credit though, he’s having a very good season, particularly as a two-way forward.

The issue is… the Avs would really need to be at least close to full health for this to work well. Hopefully they get good injury luck as the playoffs near.

He’s not like Lehkonen? That’s seriously what you consider to be a rebuttal? And what’s even better is that you’re replying to a post that acknowledges they’re not the same players. Also, you’re replying to a post that is saying all realistic targets are likely to have some warts (yet you think it’s necessary to list flaws)? So what point do you feel like you’re actually making? What exactly is your point?

I’m open minded. They’ve been very effective with buy low targets. I wouldn’t be surprised is he or someone like him is their target.

Probably not JTC but they might want to see how Erod does with a mostly healthy roster. They may end up deciding the difference between Roslovic and Rodriguez isn’t enough to justify the cost. But what your hamfisted reply over looks is that Compher and Rodriguez are FAs after this year, whereas Roslovic is not (so your point about not giving up anything is effectively neutered). If Roslovic works out, the Avs would stand to have a 4 million dollar 2C for a period of time that likely has an increased salary cap on the other side.

You asked why he couldn’t work at 2C and I listed reasons why? Idk why you’re getting so pressed?

I mentioned Lehky because he fits in like a glove due to his work rate. Which is something Roslovic is severely lacking in.

It was Dater who misspelled it back when he was on here eons ago and someone corrected him, maybe even me, it’s been so long I can’t remember, and he got really upset and claimed he did it on purpose. I think he DMed some people, maybe including me? But it was an early view into his personality and temperament. And spelling.
Was Dater seriously on here ?

I'll never understand motivation issues with certain guys. Like, you're in the f***ing NHL. There are millions of dollars on the line. And you STILL can't be motivated???
Every guy in the NHL are highly motivated individuals (with a few exceptions). But they're competing against the best players in the world. Some players probably only dedicate 9-10 months of their lives to hockey, instead of 11-12 months.

Playoff avatars from back in the day when we made the playoffs when we had no business doing so. But whoever made decided cubbard was a fun way to spell it. Sure did confuse a lot of fans of other teams.
Remember the Dune spiced eyes player avatars we did way back? I think I had Bob Boughner as mine, so that must've been in 03/04 or 05/06. With them actually making Dune movies now, we should consider that theme again.

My dad was born and raised in Detroit, so naturally after reading my copy of Blood Feud, I thought I'd buy a second copy for him as gift. I had to write a note to excuse the spelling and grammar though. Seriously, most word processors have always come with a fairly sophisticated grammar and spell check and today's versions are absolutely fantastic. But I couldn't believe at the time that an actual published book bought at a brick and mortar (Barnes & Noble) could contain so many errors.

I remember that, I had suggested it as I had been power reading the original Dune series at the time. Good times. I'm still rolling with the turtle theme we did a few years back.

I was having trouble finding a quality pic of Boughner in an Avs sweater. I think it was Bling (sp?) that helped me out. I think that was his name. He used to post a lot back in the day and was a photographer (if not by trade by serious interest I think).
