Rough game for him. He’s gonna need a lot of AHL seasoning to work on that D. I don’t think one year would be enough honestly.

He really could cap out as a 3rd pairing guy PP specialist. All that loss of dev time really hurt but his D IQ just doesn’t seem that great. He’s got an uphill battle ahead of him

I wouldn't say he had a rough game, but he does need a lot of work as to be expected from missing so much time, we'll just have to wait and see how much he can continue to progress or not. It's very hard to tell what prospects will progress vs which ones won't.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up a 1st pairing D or a 3rd pairing PP specialist, the physical tools are high end, the offensive skills are impressive, if he can round out the rest of his game there's no telling how good he can be. That said I have concerns over the IQ but we'll see how he handles the pros.

another impressive showing from Beck, he dominated FO's again going 17/23, blocked shots and was easily one of the Petes best players this series.

Adam Nicholas interview on Hab's Twitch (starts at 2:25). Well worth my time, Twitch fans questions are better then usual media question.

Adam's anwswers were genuine, they talked about general player dev, specific players dev (including Slaf that he calls "the Big Rig"). When asked about Lane Hutson: "overall we're ecstatic, the kid's an absolute stud".

Mailloux and Beck mixed it up a bit, but both had solid games. If Beck scores there though this would have been a very different game. He's missed 3 open nets these playoffs, so he's been close to getting more then the 6 goals he has so far.

we’re gonna see a fight between Winnipeg’s
Mcclennan and Davidson. They both have had match penalties twice and Davidson throw off his gloves

Feel like Mailloux would be so much better if he didn't get so rattled during oddman rushes against. I swear his decision making in those situations are so strange/panic filled.

It's where the rawness in his game shows a bit more. He just hasn't had a lot of reps for his age, both in practice and game scenarios . I'm confident he'll improve a lot with enough coaching/game experience.

He’s 20 playing against junior aged players. He shouldn’t look this lost, reps or not. If he was truly elite, the game would be easy for him right now. But right now, he’s simply being carried by his great tools. Toolbox is worrying.
