Some post game thoughts
He has a lot of very strong aspects of his game I would say he just has quite a few bad habits as well

He's incredibly confident sometimes to his detriment. Does not need an excuse to carry the puck all over the ice whether it's a good idea or not which can get him into trouble

Can and did use his size and skating ability a number of times to cover up for occasional poor defensive positioning but I say occasional because he should not be using it as a crutch as often as he is

Often takes shifts that are way to long especially with the way he is skating up and down the ice and can lead to chances for the opponent if he gets caught on the ice. I didn't time his shifts obviously but it seemed pretty frequent he would stay on the ice as his partner was changing because he wanted to run the puck up the ice. Another interesting example was him staying on the ice after a whistle while the Knights were on the powerplay and just standing at the faceoff area. 5 new knights came on and he waved off the change like hey coach keep me out here. Which again is him oozing confidence but the knights didn't convert and he was gassed at the end of the powerplay, they couldn't change and then Windsor had a couple of good chances coming back the othe way

Overall he is 100% a very intriguing prospect just very unrefined. His game is very "Junior Hockey" if that makes sense. He has the tools to be something great though

I do believe he was the first or second star of the game so some of my negative thoughts are mostly in how his game will translate to the NHL. He played very well

Wonder how his skating compares to Guhle. It may be the opponents being slow but it looks like he looks so effortless skating.
From what I saw at the WJCs he's a very good skater. I don't know if I would say it was 'elite' necessarily but very good.

He just looked so damn well rounded when I saw him. Surprised by his strength and physicality.Couple that with producing in the SHL as a junior D and you have a rock solid D prospect. 2nd pairing seems very real. Don't know if there's more than that. Could be.

I don't know if he does one thing truly phenomenally but yeah not unlike a Guhle or a less physical but more offensive Romanov. Great compliment to Hutson and Mailloux.

- Hutson hits the 40-point mark tonight. He now has 41 pts and playing in his 32nd game.

- Mesar with an assist as Kitchener have a 4-0 lead on Erie in the 2nd.

- Beck with an assist as the Petes have a 3-0 lead on Niagara after 2.

- Guindon with an assist as OS have a 5-0 lead on Hamilton after 2.

I still don’t see him yet being that good in pro level. Yes he makes highlights plays, but just in the first few minutes on that video, on a lot of occasions, he does a lot for nothing. Skates circle to end up making a bad pass, etc.

And he won’t be able to play dman in pro if he can’t skate backwards. He never skates backwards, always back to the play in front of him.

Yes he has nice stats, but we are far from Makar still.

Which is why he's not expected to turn pro until at least another season. He's only scratching the surface right now, he has stuff he can (and hopefully will) improve.

As if Hutson at 21 will be the same player he is now.

He's not that good at skating backward, I think he overcame this handicap by never using it. But everything else is elite.

It's Heineman vs. Dichow right now.

Dichow getting his second consecutive start. It's also his 3rd start in the last 6 games. And in one of the games, he came in relief as the other goalie got pulled. So it's the 4th game he's playing in the last 6 games.

When he was young, Roger Federer had a shitty backhand. It was a weakness in his game and his opponents exploited it, went after it as often as they could. Because of this, after one of his Wimbledon victories, he thanked his opponents from his formative years for repeatedly going after his backhand, allowing him through repetition, to slowly develop one of the best backhand motions the sport has ever witnessed.
