They may not have an elite 1C, but they have a very complete 1,2,3 punch down the middle with guys slotted appropriately. Lindholm is a solid 1C, Kadri is a good 2C even if he regresses to 55-60 point pace, and Backlund is a defensively solid 3C who can play up the lineup if injuries strike.
They might lack a true 1D or game breakers on the blueline, but their 1-6 top to bottom is good and can absorb a couple of injuries to still ice a solid top 4.
Slow team speed doesn't matter since their coach has proved he can win playing that style in the playoffs.
Winnipeg have a good top 6 and goalie, but their defense is poor and most of their forward depth is barely above replacement level other than Lowry. Their coach also has like the 8th worst winning % in league history. Oh and their locker room is a circus. Can't see them finishing above Calgary. At best they'll be in a wildcard battle like last year.
Weegar is a top pairing dman. Tanev is also an ideal partner for him as he's elite defensively.
