Wright is coming off like a whiny brat with all of this. Like he thought he was entitled to being 1st overall despite not standing out from the crowd
I thought he had a pretty unlikeable personality before...it sure didn't get better after the draft.

He dropped to #4 ffs...

I’m still kind of amazed (amused maybe?) at Montreal’s draft day. I give them credit for not playing it safe but the way they went about it invites a ton of criticism if several scenarios happen.

Were they too influenced by Bobs ranking and worried Wright might blow up in their face because of it? It’s weird because in certain ways Wright is safest. He plays the more valuable position, he has an elite shot, his perceived slide could be overscouting while also ignoring his previous two years. If Wright struggles and Slafkovsky thrives, Montreal can at least defend it because Wright is a center - if nothing else.

So there’s that. If they had simply chosen Slafkovsky and Wright has more success, they can defend it by going for perceived upside. But then they go and trade for Kirby Dach.

So now, if Dach struggles, everyone’s mind goes to, “and they chose Dach over Wright?” Thats even if Slafkovsky does well. It’s like Montreal said, “yes, we need a center but we’ll do anything to avoid Wright.” And because they e done this, it’s almost as if both Slafkovsky and Dach must be better than Wright for it to be considered a success.

And where Gordon is concerned, Lafreniere - Stützle enters the discussion. If both Stützle and Wright end up being better than their draft day counterparts, Gordon’s rep has to take a hit.

Bob’s rankings are just a sample of scout’s opinions. If his rankings showed a guy rising for falling it’s because team’s around the league are seeing it that way, not vice versa

Wright seems more concerned about the ex he was never with rather than the happy marriage he is in now!

I'm aware. I'm not sure why you're explaining this.

Bah, I get him liking that post is not a good look but I don’t see it as a big deal. Wright will be carrying a very large chip on his shoulder into Climate Pledge But Please Buy This NFT Arena and that’s fine. Marty St. Louis is one of my favorite all time players and he had one the size of a mountain. Definitely used it to fuel his career. Peyton Manning flat-out told the Indianapolis Colts if they didn’t draft him first overall he’d kick their asses for the next ten years.

Because I find the suggestion that their rankings were too influenced by Bob’s to be kind of odd. Bob is Canadian, I’m pretty sure MTL’s scouts are often represented in his ranking. Seems to me to have the order of operations backwards

Maybe this is a difference between Canada and the US, but I like it that he liked this comment. But at the same time, I readily admit that it either shows he has competitive spirit or is petty and spiteful. It all depends on what happens next. The work you put in is the difference.

So being Canadian equates to embracing Wright’s boorish behavior because he is insecure and immature? I don’t think so. Kid is acting like an ass wipe repeatedly.

If you make comments and act the way he does, you have to have the charisma to pull it off. There's plenty of people who are kind of assholes but they're so charming and charismatic that it's brushed off.

I don't get that impress from Wright

First 6 years = can't get sent down/waived/traded
Final 2 years = can't get sent down/waived/traded to some teams
Yes that's what I understood. It's just poorly worded. It's not a full NMC for the duration of the contract. With a full NMC you can't move the player at all. It's a kind of modified NMC with limited NTC for the last two years.
