Off topic, but does a player's agent ever come into consideration when a team is looking at players to target via trade or FA? Like will some teams shy away from a player because of who their agent is? Or will a certain player get an advantage because of who their agent is?
Avs haven't had much luck with Newport (ROR, Barrie if I recall), wouldn't be surprised if they consider it negative a player is represented by them.

Wish we didn’t give Francouz that extension, he hasn’t really played like a 2M backup this year. Wonder if Fleury would’ve taken 2M here to chase a cup.

How? How is a 15-5-1 record, 2.55 GAA and .916 sv% not good backup numbers? Wtf

Francouz put up exactly the type of numbers you would want from a backup...

Nah. Both are useless in the playoffs. We have enough fire power to get by fine in the regular season. We need playoff warriors in our bottom six.
I'd add Mikhayev had some golden opportunities in the final two games to win/tie the games and whiffed hard on them. His two playoff goals against the Lightning were on empty netters.

Teams matter I think Fleury can put up those numbers easily on the Avs. Francouz had a good start to the year but really struggled down the stretch. Remember he had better numbers than Kuemper at the start of the year then fell all the way down to those stats.

Stats aside the eye test wasn’t good, didn’t have confidence in him at all the the games he played in Nashville.

Let me ask you this, if Kuemper went down do you think we have a better shot in the playoffs with Fleury or Francouz?

I mean we just saw how Fleury played against the Blues.

I'll happily take my chances with Francouz who was quite fine against the Preds thanks.

I mean Francouz had a .902 and a negative goal saved above expected in the two games…I definitely would not be comfortable with him…

It wont happen, but imagine if Sid actually says to the Penguins this summer he'd like a trade to Colorado to chase another cup with Mackinnon while the Penguins blow it up in a rebuild.

Would certainly solve our 2C issues going forward!

I mean.....

Not only would it give you the best 2C in the league, it would also insure that MacK sticks around for the long haul.

Don't worry Crosby's forcing a move to CO.

I would legit lose my mind if the Avs landed Crosby. Curious what the price would be.

Mario is gonna smooth this all out. I really cant see Sid playing anywhere else. His legacy is already cemented and if he wants to chase another Cup he should go to the greatest team in hockey the Minnesota Wild.

Byram, probably. But yeah hard to imagine Sid not retiring a Pen

It'd kill me but I would 100% trade Byram for Sid.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if they preferred Newhook at the moment.

Nah if they're trading Sid they are going full rebuild and likely just looking for the best piece they can get. Byram would likely be it.

I think Sid is a Penguin for life but I also think Colorado with Mack is probably the one other place he'd play.

It’s fun to think about but probably never happening.
The chances of getting Sid would increase if we manage to win the cup this year but too bad that Sakic will not trade Byram. Newhook maybe because Avs will have Sid on 2nd line c and then we can also include Compher and another roster player or pick.
