Lehkonen took over after the Scheifele hit.
Correct, and how many game did Evans play LW on Danault's line before that? He played exactly 3 games on the Danault line.

Toronto series:
Game 1 - centered 4th line
Game 2 - did not play
Game 3 - did not play
Game 4 - did not play
Game 5 - did not play
Game 6 - played LW with Danault-Gally
Game 7 - played LW with Danault-Gally

Winnipeg Game 1 - played LW with Danault-Gally

That's it, 3 games.

By the way, when he returned for games 1, 4 and 5 of the finals, he played bottom 6 C.

Total for 7 games: 1 ENG, 1 assist.

Let's not overglamorize Evans' role in the cup run.

I didn't glamorize his role in the playoff run. I said he played well on the wing with Danaul and Gallagher.

It really shouldn't be a red flag if a teenager wants to win a medal with his home country in front of friends and family.

Pump the breaks a bit there bud.
Yes it is a red flag if he wants to do that rather than play in the NHL. Again, he's playing, he's 3rd on the team in goals, he's arguably the 3rd best winger on this team. He's on the 2nd PP unit.

He's a PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE hockey player...NOT a member of the Slovakian National Junior Team or the IIHF and the Montreal Canadiens are NOT stakeholders in the Slovakian National Junior Team either.

Unless the Habs deem it best for his development to go play there, he has his priorities misaligned if he's prioritizing playing there over playing for the team that employs him.

This conversation is ridiculous honestly, just because you enjoy watching the WJC doesn't mean players would prioritize that over their jobs.

He's an NHL player, not an amateur...

NHL > WJC. I get it as fans it's fun for us to watch, but once you sign an ELC, your priority is your NHL team.

The guy is trying to establish himself as an NHL player, he wants to be a top line player and considering beyond Cole Caufield, the opportunity to play big minutes on the Habs as a winger is right there, you think he's gonna sabotage that so he can play with the Slovakian junior team for a few weeks?

Get real and pump YOUR breaks.

And that's perfectly fair, I too doubt the WJC mean all that much to Slafkovsky. But I also don't know the guy, either way it's not a "red flag" if he wants to go, but yeah chances are if he wants to go it's because things aren't going great in the NHL at that moment in time.
Correct, which is what I said.

But otherwise, wouldn't you find it a bit odd

Let's just hypothesize and say the WJC was next weekend.

You wouldn't find it a bit peculiar if Slafkovsky went to Kent Hughes and asked to be released to go play in the WJC? With the way he’s been playing and the role he has on the team?

I don't know man...I think some folks might be over playing this WJC experience.

Sure all kids dream of representing their countries at that tournament, but I doubt its at the expense of being NHL players lol.

The suggestion is even comical tbh

It’s a do-nothing season and he’s not in the running for the Calder… there is no loss in letting Slaf play in the WJCs if he asks to be released for it.
How is it a do-nothing season?

And what's the Calder have to do with anything? Lol

Get real and get down from your Canadian 'NHL uber-all' high horse. The national hockey is viewed differently on the European side of the pond.

No one is forcing you to place a national representation over playing in NHL, but you should at least try to understand that it might not be the same for others.

Not everything is about money and contracts, national representation simply lives in a different sphere.

It's a tank season and Slaf isn't likely to be in the race for the calder so there is no reason to prevent him from going to the WJCs if he wants.
So freaking what?

Because you've declared it a “tank season” and that he's not competing for the calder (which is completely irrelevant btw) it means he has to go play in some amateur tournament?

What? Lol
Do you have to find something to disagree with in every comment?
I currently disagree with ONE thing, the idea that he should prioritize playing in some amateur tournament rather then do his job, just because you're a WJC groupie.

Get real man...the Montreal Canadiens don't give a **** about the WJC.

Get real man

Wtf are you talking about? Lol

And you should understand that Juraj Slafkovsky signed an NHL CONTRACT, and that will ALWAYS take precedent over the WJC

Not everything is about money and contracts, national representation simply lives in a different sphere.
He's already represented his country, at a much higher level then the WJC lol.

You guys seem to have trouble distinguishing the difference between amateur and professional.

Don't confuse your WJC fandom with the real world of professional athletes.

Dude is actually playing an contributing on an NHL roster and you guys think he's gonna give that up to go play for Slovakia at a junior tournament???

Sorry man... That shit is hella funny lol

St-Louis “Hey Juraj, great news your playing on the top PP unit tonight”

Slafkovsky “Sorry coach, got to catch a flight for Halifax this afternoon, we’re playing Latvia at 3pm in the round robin game”

Who asked you or anyone to agree with my opinion?

I have a take, you or anyone can do with it whatever the **** you want lol

I'm laughing my ass off, maybe you need to go relax.

Show some respect?

How did I disrespect anyone? Seems like I'm the one who people are trying to censor. Someone literally asked me, on a discussion board, “if I have to disagree with everything”:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I made a point that the Montreal Canadiens don’t give a damn about the Slovakian National Junior Team.

That's all...no one was disrespected.

Re WJC. If he’s not an NHL regular, it’s workable. If he is an NHL regular, the only way this is even a question, is if someone has inside info that’s what the team wants to do.

Because of all the hurdles and assumptions I don’t know otherwise how this is even a passing consideration. Send him to the AHL and he can play in the WJC, sure. Europe then WJC, sure. Healthy scratch then WJC, sure. NHL regular and WJC, doesn’t compute.

oh im relaxed on the toilet bowl ( gotta love coffee ) but you can have a normal conversation with someone without telling them "what the f*** are you talking about" speaking with caps or laughing at them ne ways just my 2cents but do you buddy

Slafkovsky is now a MAN. Forget junior level, he's done with that.
Almost as many points as Kotkaniemi at 18 after 9 games. :sarcasm:

Sometimes it feels like people just want him in NHL for their own personal needs. Watching the Habs this season obviously becomes more interesting with him in the lineup.

Agreed
If he is an NHL regular, the only way this is even a question, is if someone has inside info that’s what the team wants to do.
Which would be weird, wouldn't it?

I mean if he a NHL regular, why would his NHL team send him off?

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Not even sure why this is even a debate at this point.

But apparently pointing that out is being disrespectful.

You realize the player you describe only lives in your mind, right? Did he say he wanted to go? Do you have a clue what his priorities are? You seem to know an aweful lot about what he wants and what the team thinks of it.

How about having a conversation about his development, and not pretending to read minds?

Did you read what that poster told me? There's a reason why I wrote that.

If you wanna talk about being disrespectful, maybe go see what caused that response.

As for speaking on caps, it's to emphasize, I'm not screaming.

You realize the player you describe only lives in your mind, right? Did he say he wanted to go?
I was responding to folks who were saying he would go.

So not sure what your point is.

Do you have a clue what his priorities are? You seem to know an aweful lot about what he wants and what the team thinks of it.

He signed an NHL ELC...safe to assume his priority is to be an NHL player.
How about having a conversation about his development, and not pretending to read minds?
That's what I been doing.

I been saying he's developing in the NHL and right now, that's where he should be.

Playing in the WJC *if it were held right now * would be a step back with the way he playing.

If his play slips or if he's a healthy scratch come December.

Then sure...WJC could be an option.

I'm not quite sure why that's so controversial or upsetting to some.

Team's don't draft players to fulfill their WJC aspirations, they draft them to be NHL players.

Pretty simple if you ask me.
