Never played baseball so I don't know, but is a high fastball really that enticing to swing at? I mean it seems like 95% of hitters swing and miss at those pitches. I get that you can hit homers on them, but it happens so rarely in relation to how many swing and misses you get.

I'd say they obviously must be if so many guys swing and miss on them. But then I'm sure Buck will tell us that the hitters just have to stop swinging at them in the same way that they just have to stop hitting into the shift.

It just seems weird because hitters usually have no problem recognizing when a fastball is too low and not swinging, so why doesn't it apply to the high ones?

Davis needs to find a helmet that fits better. There are a few guys who's helmet falls off an awful lot like Bo for example. Davis' helmet falls off literally every single time he puts a ball into play

Yeah Buck/Pat. Estrada's fastball was pedestrian. But it didn't matter because he had a god-tier changeup. Unimpressive fastballs aren't just magically good in a vacuum because reasons.

Buck's entire announcing style has become three hours of complaining that it's not the 70's anymore.

I've never played baseball outside of video games, but it looks really enticing coming in. Fastballs kinda look like they're going downhill so when you see one come in high It looks level with you so you go "I can crush it"

Related to my other post but playing the show has given me a whole new level of appreciation for good hitters.

The amount of shit they have to calculate/adjust to on the fly is nuts. Meanwhile I'm here like 'dont swing don't swing don't swing" as I swing and strikeout on a curveball 40 feet below the zone for the 5th time."

Man I know it won't happen but Semien needs to come back next year and beyond.

I loved the Semien signing in part because a one year deal would allow them to use the money for one of the elite free agents this offseason. But now I'm disappointed because it turns out Semien IS one of the elite free agents next year and I wish he was on a multi-year deal.

If I were the Rays I would attack Hernandez with breaking balls in the zone and coax the K out of him. Don't give him fastballs to get a grounder. He murders fastballs.

So with that said: I hope the rays try to give him fastballs to get the GB.
