This is where bunting in stupid. 2 times the guy couldn't get it down but hey 3rd time a charm. Maybe switch it up to a hit and run after the 1st failed attempt.

I'm not arguing whether or not Montoyo should have let him hit

More the fact that when you are a shit hitter like Davis batting 9th and hitting a buck, you should be able to execute a bunt

No f***ing excuse for a below replacement MLB hitter not being able to lay down a bunt

Yes, you're right on that. Not many guys can bunt nowadays.
 
Here is the thing with the Jays. They will take the next step when Montoyo is gone. He reminds of Rick Renteria when he managed the Cubs and all their kids. He was good with the young kids but not a great manager of the actual game.

The Cubs took the next step once they fired him and replaced him with Maddon who was able to manage games vs being a good guy around the clubhouse type manager.

How long does management stay with Montoyo

I'll give Montoyo credit when he makes the right move. The double switch made sense.

Payamps didn't. Phelps should have been in here.

I didn't think he did it intentionally, just the usual throwing the mask to get it out of the way
 


Starts on that particular at bat. Hard to see on the quick play. They were both going for a fall that Bichette caught and Jansen backed off at the last second
 


Ok Montoyo, you get an apology from me today. Davis not great work but you have been playing well, so I’m not upset anymore... for now.
