It’s very possible. I am not one for conspiracy theories either, but, this one might be legitimate.

A Red Sox/Yankees AL WC game would be a ratings bonanza down South.

Yesterday's ump scorecard favoured the Jays fwiw.

The first probably 2 hours (8-10pm) would be great for ratings but the other 7 innings of the game the rating will drop because it will be about 4:00am when the game is over.

Remember those Yankee/Red Sox playoff games in the mid-2000's they were like 6 hours.

Hi, I'm Corey "Big" Dickerson and I'm going to teach you how to hit a double.

Yeah clutcherson is a badly needed scrappy lefty in this lineup. Nice trade.

Biggest problem for NYY is the amount of ridiculous contracts they have. I know they're one of the wealthiest sporting franchises on Earth but having so many albatross deals on the balance sheet is never a good thing to anyone.

Stanton is gonna be paid big for the next like 20 years as a full-time DH, DJL is on their books till he's 38, Judge still has to be get paid (and deservingly so), Rizzo if he comes back is 32, if Sanchez is their long-term catcher good freakin luck, they have to figure out what they want out of young Gleybor Torres (who's been underwhelming the last two years), and their rotation is still iffy imo outside of Cole who the Jays hit hard today

Cole without the sticky stuff is basically a #2 or #3 starter. His contract is going to age terribly, it will be one of those, what the hell were you thinking type deals.

Here's his #starts/era/whip by month

April: 6 / 1.43 / 0.72
May: 5 / 2.18 / 0.97
June: 5 / 4.65 / 1.06
July: 5 / 4.71 / 1.29
Aug: 3 / 0.51 / 0.96
Sept: 6 / 5.13 / 1.38

June, July, Sept he's basically been Steven Matz

Ummm O's had runners on 2nd and 3rd 0 out. With 1 out Mullins on a 3-2 count just got called out on a pitch that according to gameday was about 5 inches high.

Thankfully Mountcastle just hit a 3 run homerun with 2 outs

The fourth pitch on Mullins was a strike that was called a ball. The umps are so bad.

You knew Baltimore took the lead just by the excitement Shulman had in his voice making that announcement.

“And now AN UPDATE FROM CAMDEN YARDS”:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Yup. It’s insane that people are talking about him for the Cy Young based on 2 months of cheating and 4 months of being a league average pitcher.
