Jose Ramirez would be a dream addition. Prime of his career, control till 2024 at great contract, plays 3B, lefty/switch bat, power, contact, elite defense, speed, etc. It'd be as great a fit for both parties as it gets

what would a package from us look like?

Well they need a catcher. I guess, as much as it hurts, you start with Kirk, plus a prospect (Smith?)... and hey. they can have Grichuk too.:D
I’m not giving up Kirk or Moreno. Catcher has a chance to be a real strength for this franchise. If they want young players with control who are ready then I’d dangle Biggio, Jansen and Smith. If they want futures who will be ready in 2023 or later I’d honestly consider trading Martinez or Groshans or a quantity of prospects. So looking at some combo of 2 or 3 of Biggio, Jansen, Groshans, Martinez, Smith as the best blue chips or some combo of prospects in the 5-20 range depending on who they like.

Hey, if it helps get us Ramirez I'd happily (well not that happily) give up Kirk
Kirk is the best hitting catcher under 25 in the entire MLB with an OPS of .822 and wrc+ of 123 with 5 years of control after this year. If they want a catcher they can have Jansen. I'd package Jansen with Biggio, Orelvis Martinez or Groshans but I want to keep Moreno and Kirk.

It would depend on negotiations with Semien before I moved Martinez or Groshans.

That's a tough ask. Make your MLB debut vs one of the best offenses in MLB on a massive heater who have the Cy Young leader going for them. Maybe they are just punting this game

Here would be my offseason outlook. I highly doubt we re-sign both Ray and Semien so here would be the ideal case if only one signs:

If Ray resigns/Semien leaves - throw a lot of money at Correra to play SS (moves Bo to 2B). If Ray comes back, the rotation is in good shape with Manoah getting more experience, full season of Berrios, hopeful bounce-back season from Ryu, and whoever the heck we can get for a #5 starter

If Semien resigns/Ray leaves - aim to get Scherzer or Greinke on a 1-2 year deal (they are clearly not your typical player in their late 30s) or possibly bring back someone like Thor

I'd attempt a trade at JRam in both cases as 3B is a big need regardless of who they can get back

Here's another interesting possibility - bring back EE on a minor league deal to see if he can fill in as DH. Assuming Springer is fully healthy and Kirk catches more often next year, there will be a hole at DH as Grichuk is probably getting shown the door this winter. Eddie obviously won't be the same player he once was but he really doesn't need to be in a lineup that'll be as loaded as the 2022 Jays will be

Counterpoint: It's the Rays and it's in the Trop. He'll probably pitch 8 innings of 2-hit shutout ball and the Jays will lose when a Rays batter hits one of those BS catwalk HRs in the bottom of the 9th. Because suffering must be always.

If the Jays want to keep Bo into his Free Agent years they can't move him to 2nd. He'll just say cya later I'm going where I can play SS.

He'll go where he gets paid. If the team opened their wallets, they could have 3 elite SS this offseason (not saying that that is necessarily a smart idea).

Sportsnet now being garbage as usual. I'm hardwired in ay 75 mbps and it's still buffering every 10 seconds. Such a trash network.

Ray on pace for more than 250 strikeouts this year. To put that into perspective, Docs career high was 220. Halladay was more of a pitch-to-contact type, but could obviously still rack up K's.
