From sportsnet article on Guerrero’s home run tonight
:”It gave Guerrero one more than his father ever hit in a year; it put him third on the franchise leaderboard for most in a season; it put him two behind Joe freaking DiMaggio, who’s held the record since 1937 for most homers in a season at age 22 or younger. You want to bet he’s not breaking that one?”

Wow i might have to start getting ready to pay attention to the Jays again. What a season for Guerrero

I was thinking last night, if the Jays get into the ALDS, I know getting way ahead of myself, would Ryu get Mark Buehrle'd from 2015? Left off the post season roster, or RA Dickey'd, the #4 you don't use unless you really have and will skip over if you can get back to David Price.

Ray - lock
Berrios - given what they paid at deadline he's a lock

Down to Manoah or Ryu, Manoah has much better numbers, tough to not go with him over Ryu. And really tough to say to Ryu we signed you to be the ace and a year later we're skipping over you in the postseason.

No chance. They'll use him as a bullpen arm if he's not one of the starters.

Yeah I mean he is closer to Buerhle right now then he is the starters who pitched in the 2015 playoffs. Ray, Manoah, Berrios have to be the front runners right now. Then one of Ryu or Matz depending on who pitches better down the stretch. But all of that could change depending on the last few weeks if Ryu turns it on.

Raptors and Jays always know how to bring fans of NHL teams who hate each other into one united group lol

We are always united by our common joy. Or disappointment. Often disappointment. Lots of it. Over and over and over again. And then just enough hope and joy to suck you back in to being a Jays fan before it crushes your soul again and part of you dies as you watch a little more of the light in your life snuffed out by the cold, unfeeling universe.

I mean, I'm sure that Romanian philospher Emil Cioran wasn't referring to the Toronto Blue Jays in most of his seminal works on nihilism given that they came out decades before the team even existed. But you can't prove that he wouldn't have been referring to the Jays had someone introduced him to baseball later in his life.

"Hope is the normal form of delirium."

Based on form, you'd have to say that Matz should start over Ryu as the 4th guy.

But I'd be utterly shocked if Ryu isn't trotted out as one of the top starters when the playoffs start.

7.27 ERA in his last 7 starts. Hopefully he can turn it around down the stretch, because his starting spot is the one area of big concern on this team right now.

Piggyback Ryu and Matz imo

I'd be onboard with this but they had that plan last playoffs too but stuck to it way to tight. I would like to see a piggyback where Ryu starts and pitches on a short leash with Matz ready to jump in if needed.

McGuire and Valera in vs a Rays lineup that once again has a Lowe in it.

Dickerson playing(and especially hitting 6th) when Randal has been so good in September is annoying as well.

Just a reminder that Montoyo will once again get votes for AL Manager of the Year.

I wish I could get awards for being incompetent at my job.

Yeah, boss. I put last month's expense reports into the shredder. But in my defence I had a feeling it was the right thing to do. Now when can I move my stuff to that corner office?

One thing I notice about the Rays pitching (and recently the Jays) is they target and trade for a lot of pitchers in the national league or just young pitchers. Rasmussen is another of those. I think apart of their strategy is to trade for players that American league hitters don't have a lot of familiarity with... they churn over more pitchers then anyone else. Now that teams like the Jays are getting a better read on Yarbarough they will probably move him in the offseason just as teams are figuring him out. This strategy of going for pitchers that A.L hitters don't have familiarity with has worked well with Ray, Matz and Stripling. Ryu was also very good in the begining when first coming over.
