This logic makes sense for a guy like Stripling who is borderline as a starter.

Roark is just unbelievably bad. He could have been facing the 2019 Orioles in Griffith Stadium and he would have been smashed. After watching him last year it’s insanity that he’s back with this team.

OK think y'alls are moving too far to the other side with the Roark stuff here.

He was trash last year in a pandemic year. the ERA this spring was bad but it was mostly inherited runners and he didn't allow a ton of hard contact and only one homer. He definitely deserved one start.

But now he needs to be launched into the sun - if he starts again that's an issue.

Roark is the closest thing to the NHL "bad goalie" effect as you'll see in baseball. Where the whole team has such little confidence in him that they just collectively give up playing offense as well.

Just to be clear, I can understand the team's perspective. However, I disagree with it. I have never liked Roark and hated the signing. He should not be with the MLB team.

Being down 4 with a gas can throwing terribly in the 5th is so depressing. 4 isn't insurmountable, but you know you've got to let this guy get through it to save the pen.
