Shane Prince is playing for Belarus. He could have been good addition for Team USA at this rate. Bit disgusting to be honest. IIHF rules should be changed because it is not good for International hockey that certain countries buy players who have no connection to that country. Just play two years here and we give you some dough and passport...

I don't think USAH should care about losing Prince. If he can help grow the sport for Belarus I'm all for it. The varied citizenship practices amongst IIHF countries is a challenge, but I imagine they're not too worried about it until / if it starts affecting top players, which Prince is not. I think the IIHF is fine with it because the 'get quick citizenship and play' tactic is largely employed by smaller countries or those trying to elevate the sport. If lower tier Canadians, Americans, etc. can help Great Britain or Belarus build reputable programs, that's a boon for hockey overall.

so right now something like>

Kevin Labanc - Colin Blackwell - Conor Garland
Reid Boucher - Kevin Rooney -
Justin Abdelkader - Jack Drury -
Brian Boyle - Matthew Beniers -

Zac Jones - Matt Tennyson
- Chris Wideman

And yes i count in Jack Drury, His uncle is the GM. Some skilled fast players mixed with prospects and 2 physical veterans. Might be funny to watch actually.

Good luck to USA at this tournament. I have no rooting interest in USA at any other tournament, but no other country gets more refusals at this tournament year after year and I still find it odd that USA hasn't lucked into a win at any point given some of the piss poor rosters that have won it. I'm also annoyed by dumb "USA is no good because it hasn't won the IIHF WC" posts. USA winning this tournament is the chaotic result and I would support it.

Because those weak rosters who have won have been well coached and they have also played together numerous times. Unfortunately, in general we have had neither

This is Team USA, not a tryout camp. Why are we doing this?

Read some comments on the USA U18 thread about the “old boys club” at USA Hockey. The excuse will be “veteran leadership” is needed with all the turn downs. Agents can also get on the phone with Drury crying that they are trying to resurrect two dead NHL careers.

Yeah I’m not mad or upset or anything, I’m just excited to watch

Same. With all the games being televised, I just hope we're able to add a lot of young guys like Robertson, Pinto, Zegras, York, Sanderson, Rathbone, Mittelstadt, Oettinger, etc. At least the team would have skill and be fun to watch, even if it'd be asking a lot for them to win.

need Zegras, Norris, Terry, Pinto, Robertson from Dallas, Farabee...

good add Jack Drury, Bouchard,

out Boyle and Abdelkader...

I guess York & maybe Farabee are about what the Flyers could realistically offer. Not even really sure about Farabee unless he feels like he could help his standing like Garland as a likely outside guy for next year’s Olympics.
