I just find it sad that we have to dig this deep. Maybe both will surprise and it's all relative with other rosters of course. Maybe Gerbe will join and he can line up with Boyle and Garland. LOL.

If Boyle and Abdelkader are there it is because of USA Hockey and not because million guys turned it down. There are young guys in NCAA, AHL and even NHL who could be there instead.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I think Drury's gotten the cold shoulder from a ton of players and he has to ice some kind of lineup. At least Abdelkader played this year and seemed to do pretty well in a top league.

Expected and understandable. He has a young baby, he's showed up recently, and he'll be playing in the Olympics next year.

Nothing but respect to Kane for his dedication to USAH. One of our only elite players who's given a damn.

I think it's both. I imagine it's lining up to be a very young / inexperienced roster (not unexpected), so they want some veteran leadership, which makes sense. But having 2 of those guys isn't needed and what reeks of USAH's continual deference to grit, sandpaper, intangibles, experience, blah blah blah.

We're assuming, but when one of the best players in the world is saying he hasn't heard from USAH, I think that should cast doubt on his wide net.
