Any trade for Vegas needs to be money in/money out

The Rangers take Reaves back and retain 25% of Getzlaf's salary. Reaves has another year on his deal and can play 4th line RW for a year policing a young team

How are the NYR sitting right now though with cap space vs bonuses? I know they have a bunch of cap space, and they have all year, but they wanted to keep that to payoff bonuses this year, I have no clue how that calculates for the rest of the year for taking on any other salary/cap

its a little weird, teams functionally are buying 4th round picks for like $1M which hardly seems worth it.
