I suppose if they all come out like Omsk Arena then my plan will fail.

But c'mon let's not make it seem like it is impossible for the government to fund functional rinks in Siberia.
Rinks is just another way to get corrupted money for Rotenberg and other developers. Kids coaching and scouting is an issue. And nothing changes there. KHL is just a f* joke. Good Russian teams were removed and replaced with bulls*it from China and other countries. Mark my words, if nothing changes next years will be much worse. 4th place and 1/4s finals couple years ago is just a beginning.

Can you please stop talking about Rotenberg. You are like a lib demshiza just trying to stir things. What do you want with this Rotenberg stuff? What did he do with this team to play like this?

Can you stop saying me what I should do? You are like tipichni tupoi vatnik. I just want Rotenberg out from Russian hockey. Who the f*** is he, some talented GM? He is just corrupted oligharh. Rotenberg brought Larionov to this team, Rotenberg brought 6 players from his team SKA in to the team, Rotenberg took Bragin as a coach in SKA. I believe he is like cancer for Russian hockey.

I think you are completely useless poster and have no idea that Russia had 1 gold at this tournament in the last 17 years. Rotenberg has nothing to do with this.

I provided arguments why is he responsible for this issue. KHL is not started like 5 years ago. This issue started earlier. You just delusional.

In 2007, Medvedev developed the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) plan. In order to manage all league commercial contracts, the KHL marketing company was created. Roman Rotenberg was named the deputy general director. On the 20th of January 2015, Roman joined the KHL's board of directors. In 2011, SKA Hockey Club president Gennady Timchenko offered the position of club vice-president to Roman. On the 11th of December 2014, Roman became the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's first vice-president. He manages the cooperation between the RIHF and KHL and also manages marketing strategies and searches for new partners, He is also the head of the Russian national team staff, including the analytical and statistical departments. Since 2016, he has been a member of the IIHF's reforming system. In December 2016, he was granted official thanks from the Russian President Vladimir Putin for his contribution to sport and Russian ice hockey.

So he has nothing with all this mediocre perfromance, right?

What does KHL have to do with these juniors? Nothing, just like the NHL has nothing to do with this. Unless it was Rotenberg's personal decision to appoint Larionov he may be partially to blame but it is not. Usually it is a bunch of "respected" people in FHR who recommend who to appoint. FHR should be re-organized as it is a very slowly adjusting bureaucratic organization but it has to be done with the brain behind this. Funny enough, that is likely what they were trying to achieve is to bring a completely new and fresh approach from Larionov. IT BACKFIRED! There are no miracles, only work! You need people with experience coaching starting from U-6 all the way to U-20 who was exposed to international hockey. Why did they believe that Larionov, who never coached elite kids would be able to coach this team? What experience does he have?

Thank God it is over! In my opinion, this has been an incredibly depressing tournament from the standpoint of a Russian fan. And I am going to go to the United Nations to request a Genetic Investigation - how can mothers and fathers in a tiny nation of 6 million (Finland) produce so many more talented hockey players than those in a giant nation of 146 million? There must be something going on there! Maybe I should contact WADA? I'll get back to you on my investigation by next year at this time.

Before the tournament started, I was curious as to what kind of coach Larionov would be? Now we know. He can't be blamed for the lack of talent, but his coaching surely suppressed their ability to arise to the occasion. Maybe in tournaments representing your entire nation, you need to hire someone with coaching experience! Just a thought.

I coach this team Russia we beat this Finland. You, Mr Yakushev never question this Finland thing.

Lol what does KHL to do with those juniors? It is like most of them play there in KHL system. Did you even try to read? He is first vice president of the federation. All the decisions ho thru him.

So all good right? 4th place is good. Russia is fine. Is this correct? Well deserved defeat for all those mediocre patriots who are OK with 2nd and 3rd places.
Yes, everything is fine, every major nation has a bad tournament here and there, this year it was us, let’s see what happens next year

And year before last it was us again and before that we always were in best three. There is a negative trend which many of you decide to not notice.

We were in 4 finals in the last 9 years which we lost by 1 goal or in OT. Certainly unfortunate, but not catastrophic like the senior team in the 00s

I remember endless bitching when Russia got shellacked at previous juniors and at Olympic games. And nothing changed.

Honestly, I no longer have the energy to care. The people in charge clearly don't.

In all honesty hockey can be a very simple but also complicated, very technical and fast sport. Let's be honest, we had some genius people in Soviet times who managed to build an impossible Soviet hockey system. I am talking about our top coaches, particularly Tarasov and Tikhonov. They managed to create at times unbeatable teams that vowed the hockey world. No longer we have people like that and we are many years away from this. We do not have people who understand hockey, particularly junior hockey at the elite level. Yes, we can do the drills, do them fast etc. But we need a man with an idea on how to build this new Russian hockey machine. That is all it takes - a dictator with brilliant ideas which we do not have.

It's not so much about the people. It's about the system. The system makes the people.

Well-funded, state-run, centralized, organized, scientific. Not corporate.

I'm not interested in dictators. Pinochet didn't build good hockey schools.

Pinochet coached hockey? That is news to me. Never mind, we are not on the same page.
