More details here (WATCH: Rookie Faceoff vs. COL - Live Stream & Game Thread - LA Kings Insider) but a quick recap:

Madden – Turcotte – Fagemo
Chromiak – Byfield – Kaliyev
Pinelli – Kupari – Dudas
Sodergran – Pavlychev – Kemp

Supryka – Durzi
Phillips – Grans
McNelly – Spence

Villalta
Ingham

1st:
18:51 – LAK Goal, Chromiak.Tic-Tac-Toe play, Byfield to Kaliyev to Chromiak off the rush. Great quick hands by QB/AK, Chromiak drives the net heads up to bury.
0:02 – LAK Goal, Fagemo. Sean Durzi fires one from the left point, and his shot is saved, but Fagemo cleans up the rebound to make it 2-0 Kings with 1.5 seconds left in the first.

2nd:
7:27 – LAK Goal, Byfield. Chromiak works a turnover in the left-hand corner, Annunen was out of the net and he hits Byfield for the tap-in. 3-0 Kings, two points each for both players.

3rd:
5:56 – LAK Goal, Madden. The Northeastern product drives the net from the right side and buried what appeared to be Fagemo’s rebound. 4-0 Kings, 5:56 left.

Durzi looked very good relative to last season. As did Villalta.

The Kings skaters as a whole did a great job sustaining pressure and attacking.

The Avs fans who posted on the main board seemed to be underwhelmed by Byfield. How did he look?

How did Martin Chromiak look? I heard he picked up a goal and an assist...outstanding!!!

Not sure if it was mentioned on this board, but the recent Mayor’s podcast had Akil Thomas on and Mayor asked Thomas if he could name one player that impressed him and could have a breakout year, Thomas said Chromiak.
He added that he (Akil) was now skating on his own and did not see a lot of the camp, but that Chromiak impressed him and that he thinks he’s going to have a big year in the OHL. (I may have not worded both mayor and Akil precisely but that was how I recalled it. It’s a good podcast and Akil comes on after the first break)

How did Turk look?
His usual working hard in all zones, making things happen that don't show up in his points column. Made a great pass late, one of those where you didn't even see the passing lane until he dished it perfectly, from right to left to hit dman streaking in for excellent scoring chance. The kid is going to be a key component for the Kings, both on ice in effort and skill, and in leadership.
Reports of his regression are very premature. And many "experts" will be eating their words when he's on the big club..

I was thinking the tourny started later miss most but the last 8-9 minutes. Helluva a penalty kill 5-3 and even 3-3 on was very good! Madden scores yes!Our Rookies are light years ahead of Colorado's

To be fair, we're comparing the rookies of a team that's been rebuilding for 3-5 years with the rookies of a team that's been dealing assets to win a cup for the past three years, not to mention the average draft position and number of picks is tilted in our favour. Our rookie talent level should be well ahead of Colorado's.

Not to mention that several of Colorado's picks from 2017 onward have already played in the NHL (Makar, Timmins, Kaut, even Byram).

Regardless, great game from our boys!

I think he looked solid. He didn't dominate the way some would expect a 2nd overall pick, but he played a systemic and subdued game, still notching a goal and assist.

My biggest criticism of him is he didn't seem ready for the puck. His stick wasn't on the ice at opportune times.

Honestly I'm just not even taking any criticism of Byfield seriously anymore. People say the weirdest shit about him and it rarely even makes sense. I've literally never seen a prospect so picked apart on routine plays. It cheapens 'real' discussion of him

Like those main board posters, one was whining about the goal suggesting it was just a lucky 'hope' play rather than a good pass, and he skated himself out of the play. Like what do you even do with 'logic' like that?

I'm done talking Byfield with anyone not on this forum. It's like talking Kopitar. "yawn I'm not impressed."

He's gotta suffer the ritualistic voodoo doll sacrifice of injury that's making its way thru the farm like everyone else. Turc gave his appendix, Byfield gave his foot...Clarke presumably has an ear infection if I had to baselessly speculate.

Hopefully not the greatest video game injury of all-time, 'scrotal contusions'
