Letting Lindholm or Rakell walk for nothing is a fireable offense. I understand that with Lindholm you have to try everything you can to sign him but if he isn’t going to put ink on paper by March 1, then you have to move him. Its a no brainer
I feel like not getting lindholm resigned is a fireable offense

Not re-signing Lindholm is okay if we get a monster return for him. Although, we know what our D looks like without Lindholm and it ain't pretty.
I just can’t imagine any return at the deadline being worth it from our perspective…. He’s essentially being sold as a rental so what do we realistic get? Or what would you consider a good return?

lose our best dmen

Because he is a rental it’ll be a contender/playoff contending team… so low chance at a lottery team.

Id guess something like
1st + 2nd + prospect in the zelleweger/dostal/perreault range

don’t get me wrong that’s a decent return for a rental, but unlikely to fill the void left by losing hampus , but I’d hope our priority is resigning him

Most of all I don’t want to lose lindholm but if we had to lose him a sign and trade could bring us back a huge return. You never know, maybe there’s a potential duchene or karlsson situation where we poach a high first although I would never count on it.

When have we ever let a valuable free agent of note walk for nothing since Paul? I can't think of anyone. I guess perron?
