Foote gonna need a decent (not crazy) bridge deal then. Albiet, very much a prove it deal, he took less than his ELC and every penny counts now. Good faith ans good development should be rewarded, within reason. This will be the same off season we gotta pay Serg, Cirelli, Cernak.

Should he develop over the next two years Summer 2023 might be a nightmare

Dude was making big bucks, but is willing to table it just to come compete at a real franchise. JBB must have Yzerman's bag of tricks haha.

It's not that hard:

Jet Ski

Stanley Cup

Killorn and Kucherov has set the bar pretty damned high for UFA's.l

Last time we gave a RHD a shot at a "prove" it deal?

Random thought but it's crazy that Serg/Cernak are only 23/24 and they've combined to play in 119 playoff games already.

Here's how many games our current roster has played in the playoffs:

Perry - 167
McDonagh - 162
Hedman - 132
Maroon - 121
Palat - 115
Kuch - 113
Killorn - 111
Stamkos - 94
Vasy - 81
Sergachev - 69
Cirelli - 69
Point - 67
Bellemare - 56
Cernak - 50
Elliott - 48
Rutta - 32
Bogosian - 27
Colton - 23
Joseph - 10

Total: 1,547

One name people are forgetting is Simon Ryfors, the guy we signed from Sweden after a breakthrough year in the SEL. Couldn't he surprise and claim a FW spot too?

People in the comments are saying the CapFriendly calculation is erroneously adding Gemel Smith to the roster, so they actually have 1.1M in cap space, not 396k?

It's not erroneous. Colton will be signed, there will be a competition in camp that will lead to some people going to the minors, and we'll be under the cap. All of these sub 1 million contracts basically are non-factors when it comes to Colton (or even the roster as a whole). When they go to the AHL they don't count against the cap at all.

Yeah this is weird I thought Colton should be priority number 1 out of the rfas.
I swear this happens every offseason with RFAs. It's not about priority. ABB, Foote, etc. are easy to re-sign. Not complicated. Colton is going to be a bit more of a moving target because he has limited experience.

He'll be signed by camp. Waiting every day for an update is a waste of energy.

Stephens was expected, i feel like 1 more guy has to go due to cap and waivers. Also fully expect Colton to get the old Gourde contract for 2 years @ 1m AAV
