I thought one of Neighbors strong suits was his strength and physical style. Am I confusing him with someone else?
You’re right but that’s for his age group.

It’s still rare for a 19 year old to make an impact physically in the NHL.

I think Jeremy Rutherford's value on this board is dropping way more than Tarasenko's to other GM's.
How possibly would this clown know the ask from the Islanders is Beauvillier?

Maybe Tarasenko agent. Armstrong typically doesn’t leak, unless it is to motivate the player.

I can’t see NYI leaking that either as it might bother Beauvillier.

If any GM leaks less than DA it is Lou. So whatever JR is "hearing" about Blues and Isles is obviously from Tank's agents.

Overall this has been a really solid off-season addressing the forward core. Buch is a direct upgrade to Schwartz (Better offense, similar defense) and Saad is a direct upgrade to Hoffman (Way better 5v5, maybe slightly worse on the PP - different skill set though so tough to judge). I'd like to see us resign Bozak on a 1 year performance laden deal, with the concept of plugging him in to the 4th line to start the season. Bozak as a 4C is a direct upgrade to Joshua/De la Rose/Barbashev when he plays C, plus he can move up the lineup in a way those guys just can't. Our lines currently look something like this:

Saad-ROR-Perron
???-Schenn-Buch
???-Thomas-Kyrou
Barbashev-Bozak-Sundquivst

Extra: Clifford & MacMac

This leaves us with Sanford, Kostin, and Tarasenko currently under contract/RFA. Kostin and Tarasenko are primarily RW, same with Perron (I know he's played LW in the past, but he's had all his success with ROR on the right side). Sanford and Kostin compete for the 3LW spot (Hopefully Kostin can transition to the other side), and hopefully we can trade Tarasenko for either a top 6 C (sliding Schenn to LW) or a middle 6 LW. If not, we plug him in with Buch and Schenn and hope he scores enough goals to convince someone he's worth trading for.

If one of Thomas, Kyrou, or Kostin take a big step forward, this lineup goes from being pretty deep overall to being a really strong contender for deepest overall roster.

i unsubscribed after all the fluff rutherford's pumped out lately. character pieces and speculation (most likely after another source shares something of real value) are really all he seems to have under his hat and it's just not that interesting. the feedback spot of the athletic clearly isn't taken too seriously (look at the options available to rate it) and feels like they're starting to turnover staff as everyone does this schtick on their own podcast or website now. the athletic still has some great reporting, just not really any for the blues.

I like that Jost deal ($2M x 2) from Colorado in that I think it sets the mark for Thomas and Kyrou, even if they only end up getting 1 year deals.

The torch is being passed to Thomas, Kyrou, Kostin. They'll have their golden opportunity this season.

It could turn out that Buchenivich + Saad = Schwartz + Tarasenko

The only leak I can recall from Army was the potential dissatisfaction with EJ-probably about a month before he was traded.

The actual trade came out of nowhere.

You guys are being awfully generous for Thomas and Kyrou. They have no arbitration rights. I can see both coming in closer to 1.5M.
No way do I see either of them making less than Barbie, especially with Kyrou coming off an amazing 1st full season in the NHL where he had 35 points in 55 games. Thomas could be lower due to injuries last year, but, I still see him making at least the same as Barbie.

6.3m to sign Sanford, Kyrou and Thomas if they don’t move Tarasenko.
Kind of scares me what Sanford will ask since Barby got 2.25 per. Thomas hasn't shown to be consistent and Kyrou will be very good, but he has 1 legit year of production. I assume we bridge Thomas and Kyrou and then do whatever with Sanford.

They have no arbitration rights. 1.5M is still a good raise in pay for both of them coming off their ELC. Kevin Labanc is a good comparable. Sharks squeezed him for one year because of how tight against the cap they were.

Is there something agreed to with Bozak maybe that's going to be pending until the Tarasenko trade happens? That's a tricky situation, but maybe there is a trade already mostly agreed to in broad strokes.

Things are falling into place with more to come. I'm getting pumped for October.

Let's just pray that the 82-game season doesn't get wrecked by Delta, Lambda, or <insert your Greek labelled variant>

I was wondering this earlier. We don’t have the cap for him until Vladi’s contract gets moved.
It would show a lot of trust on Bozak's side. But its also the kind of thing that Hoffman did last year. I think its actually likely. Have there been any Bozak to anywhere rumors? Seems awfully quiet, which makes me think they have an agreement they just can't execute yet.

I haven’t seen any rumors with Bozak so I’m gonna ride this theory until it changes lol

Kase to the Leafs for 1.5m seems like a bargain. I was hoping the Blues would take a flyer on him
