Yea totally understand not allowing the public to the practices. Just seems odd we don’t know the “weigh in” date that everyone reports or anything.
You’re right it is different. But lots of guys have been skating together for a couple weeks now and it looks like everyone is trickling into STL this weekend. I’ve seen on social media that guys like Buch and Kostin are officially here from Russia. There’s a handful of players at the Cardinals game tonight too.

More talk about that stuff should start picking up in a week. I’m excited.

Small update on Bozak by Elliotte Friedman

"Finally, a couple clubs indicated they were expecting Tyler Bozak’s decision on where to play in the next few days. The 764-game veteran has a couple of options. Wonder if one is Pittsburgh, with both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin injured to start the year."

No other details and no real info about what Bozak is thinking.

So, do we think there is still room for Bozak on the Blues or has that ship sailed? Obviously, if Tarasenko will be on the roster for the time being it makes his return less likely. I just really want him back on the team next year, and his steady veteran presence will be missed if we don't bring him back. If he signs for $2 million or less, it will be a great value contract for some team.

What do you think, will Bozie be back next year or is he already penning his farewell letter to St. Louis to be posted on the Players Tribune website?

Don't we still need to sign Thomas? That has to mean something is happening right? Sanford and Clifford gone? That's 3 mill opened. 3 mill divided by 2 = Thomas and Bozak right?

IIRC we have a deal on the table for him, he just hasn't made a decision yet

I feel like he would have accepted an offer from the Blues if we had made one, unless it is a low ball offer. Maybe they're just waiting to put Sunny on ir but I'm starting to wonder if they are going to move on from Bozie and give the kids more opportunities.

I agree.

Bozak would have got resigned already. I don't see thinking will they put Sunny in IR would have affect not signing Bozak. They would have done it already and work out team under cap.

I guess it was more if Sanford > Bozak in Army's and Berube's mind.

Tho in my eyes Bozak would have been more versatile and reliable player vs Sanford.

I could see a PTO then a contract after Sunny is on LTIR

at some point he's gonna come back tho, and then you'd HAVE to make a move

IF you could get a 2nd for Sanford, that's the move I'd make. prolly take a 3rd honestly.

or they could just go with less guys in the pressbox

It could end up working out like that. My concern is that other teams out there will give him a better offer if we wait too long, but it could also be a Maroon situation where he gets squeezed out. I get why some people would wanna get rid of Sanford but I don't think they are gonna do that to re-sign a guy they don't see in their long-term plans.

the re-signed him to retain his rights. not like he was UFA. trading him after that would be no big deal

if he could fetch a 2nd or 3rd in next years draft I'd do that. Maybe one of AZ's 5 2nds next year lol

altho, I bag on Sanford, I do believe he'd be better in the East. suits his style of play better than the west IMO

Letting Maroon walk was a mistake, he was clearly a large emotional part of this team and I think letting Bozak leave would hurt nearly as bad. The only thing Sanford as legitimately contributed was letting Bortuzzo punch him in the face repeatedly.

We have to let those guys go if we want to allow our younger players like Kyrou, Thomas, and Kostin to grow. Bozak and Maroon aren't going to improve at this stage of their careers.
