I must admit that I didn't think much of Habs when the playoff started, but I've seen quite a few of their games and they have found something in this run. I still consider it a Cinderella run until they have proven they have taken a step forward and can compete for the cup for a longer period of time (which I don't think they are at, not yet at least), but that doesn't take away anything from their run.

- Price has been amazing, it will be a tough nut to crack. He looked much more solid and with better rebound control than Fleury, just playing with lot of confidence and doesn't get stressed.
- Their top 4 defense have surprised me, they strong and can log lot of minutes.
- Their PK is aggressive, reminds a bit of Canes PK. While Vegas powerplay certainly wasn't good, helping those numbers, we need to try and crack it early, as their won't be many pp opportunities for us.
- Danaults line is effective as a shutdown line and will play against our top line for sure
- Their young guys, such as Suzuki and also Caufield are ones to watch out for, if they play against our second line, I feel that Stamkos needs to step up a level.
- They have a very solid system to lean back to, key will be to take the lead, if we can do that I like our chances much better as Habs are really good protecting a lead and then be opportunistic when they get the chance

Overall, they remind quite a bit of the Islanders, so I think it's really helpful we played them before this final. Will be a tough series for sure, but with all this said, if we can play our game, get some pp opportunities and crack their pk, then I like our chances. Hopefully we are not too banged up and the guys have energy to fight one more series.
Our biggest advantage this series is their kids playing Against our nasty d

Savard was a great addition, admit it

I think we have more offensive talent than Vegas. The Donault line has been absolutely killing it so far, gotta think he's going up against Point/Kuch. So hopefully Stammer/Cirelli/Killorn can step up and feast.

I like our 3rd line and 4th line as well who are both hot right now.

Montreal has a big tough blue line as well, but a little banged up also. Weber seems to have a wrist injury so hopefully no big bombs from him at the point and Petry also has a hand injury right now. Chiarot is similar to a Cernak with a mean streak to him

So that means we still have Drouin? Jesus.... our offense is STACKED amigo. You gotta remember, for all of Drouin's countless faults and deficiencies as a player, our talent was able to maximize his -ESPECIALLY Kucherov. But that means in effect, we'd be outscoring our defensive issues and I think every one of us here would be having nightmares on it.

Thankfully it didn't play out that way.

Don't forget that Drouin showed a capacity to raise his game for the playoffs. He was lethal against the Penguins in the ECF at a time when we desperately needed the boost (he was also prone to devastating turnovers, of course...). I don't forget being very mad when that trade happened, but I guess you could make the argument things have worked out.

I can easily see us dropping game 1 and another one due to our trademark inconsistency. So, I'll be a bit more cautious. The team should absolutely not take the Habs lightly. Don't give them hope, they're desperate, play the game the right way, & our goaltending advantage is nullified on paper for the first time over the past 2 years.

IMO the habs are overrated. They've beaten 2 teams that were without depth due to injuries/suspensions, and an exhausted Golden Knights team that had just battled 7 games against arguably the best team in the league.

Relying on Price to bail them out every game is not viable and is very unstable going forward. Montreal's defensive depth is laughable, and they're most likely not even a playoff team next year when the divisions normalize (seeing as Toronto, Boston, Tampa, and Florida are clearly better).

Hopefully you only have to endure the whining from the Montreal fans for 4 or 5 games; it's nauseating hearing them complain about reffing every second of the game.

Best of luck Tampa, I'll be rooting for you guys.
We hope this is how your team thinks too.

Now I may be going on a limb here but personally I don't believe the opinion about the Habs from Ottawa Senators players will have much of an effect on how this series plays out.

I'm interested in hearing your case for it though.

Sorry, I thought he was a Bolts fan and it seems to be a theme this year that Habs opponents go into series feeling over confident and underestimate them. I think the bolts undoubtedly have more talent and our best shot of winning is to play within our system and outwork you. If tbay see this as a cakewalk is one of the ways the Habs can be successful. I meant no disrespect.

I know it was an eternity ago at this point, but the Leafs did manage to go up 3-1 on the Habs, and they had the advantage of familiarity that the Knights didn't have (and to a lesser extent the Jets since they did share a division this year at least). If we can replicate those first 4 games of the series with the same familiarity of being in the Atlantic, no way do we choke it away like they did. Big if though, as they're improved and riding high.

Nah all good buddy.

I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't take such an obvious chance at being a smartass sarcastic asshole.

Hey fellas. As you know, long time member here. I just bought tickets for Game 5. Never been to a Lightning game in Tampa, been to some in Buffalo, Montreal, and Boston though.

I’d love to see some of you when I’m down. Down for a week, so let me know if you want to meet up, have any recommendations on places to eat, stay, etc. Cheers, guys.

I think MTL could have out-worked the 2019 Lightning. Since then, the team has figured out how beat teams determined to beat us 1-0, and a lot of it has to do with our star players working like dogs.
