I began noticing more about Sillinger the past few weeks. Based on what I have read, he seems to be very strong, focused, works hard and leadership qualities as well.
Wheeler stated his shot is third best in this class. At 6'0" 201 and his dedication to the gym, his legs and some toughness, I would not think taken at #8 overall is a reach.
One stated this: “I’d say Sillinger is ahead of Guenther. He’s more dynamic. He can take over a game by himself. Guenther’s very good, really good, but Sillinger is scary. He’s a freak. Sillinger’s a stud.
The Kings could use a scary freak that wants to take over games. This class does not have many forwards with size, toughness and skill. Plus, he can play LW or C.

There's a great article on theathletic about him. Need to ne a member.
NHL Draft prospect Cole Sillinger is done keeping up with his family. Now it's about surpassing them.

These are good numbers. more than a PPG in Medicine Hat his 17 year season.

All of his 20-21 goals:

Would not be disappointed with Sillinger @ 8. I think the forwards taken 8-12 would/could be really close.

There are a ton of prospects in this draft that would help.

Two top tier goalies

Four to five top Dman - 5 if you are high on Lambos

2 physical centers in Beniers and McTavish - these are the Mike Richard types I would love.

some great scoring wingers. I will include Johnson w Eklund and Guenther.

Gonna add another high end guy to our crew.

Or it'll be traded for an established player. I think there's a good possibility this happens. Which is yet another reason that i am not gonna get trapped into the pit of falling for any of these prospects as our draft pick. Just way too much uncertainty. I'm going to chill this summer with some cold ones and enjoy draft night with our new addition -- whether that be a drafted player or traded for player. Future is bright either way.

Would be great if Eklund, Hughes or Clarke fell to #8. I kind of doubt it, though. Would mean that 3 of: Johnson, Guenther, Edvinsson, Wallstedt and McTavish go in the top 7. Because Power and Beniers
will certainly be gone in the top 3. If 5 of those 7 go, then 1 of Ecklund, Hughes or Clarke falls to 8. Don't really like the Wheeler comment about McTavish "will have to work on staying in shape his whole career" comment...would not want Kessell part 2. However, not sure if that has truth, or kind of his own view. I want players dedicated to working out and in optimum condition. Figure Yannetti will know if this is an issue and trust him, if McTavish is available and his guy at 8.

Sillinger looks like Matthews but smaller. Same number and everything.

Pronman Picks The Entire First Round - The Athletic

NHL Mock Draft 2021: From the Sabres through the Cup winner, Corey Pronman picks the entire first round

Spoiler alert… has us taking Brandt Clarke at 8.

Great read. If you still have not subscribed to The Athletic you are missing out.

I'd love to pick Clarke at 8. I think he's got it all. He might be the best defenseman in the whole draft. Definitely wouldn't be upset with Johnson, Guenther, or Eklund either. Not as high on McTavish based on what I read but I'm not a scout, just an idiot with YouTube videos.

It's not included in that clip but in the full episode there's a few anecdotes about Clarke and his attitude. Encouraging stuff if the Kings do take him.

This draft might actually be good for LA because we don't really have to make a tough decision, there's pretty much a group of eight players or so that are consensus best picks and we just kind of get what's left.

I'm excited for this draft more than usual. It's going to be really interesting to see who is there when we draft. There is very little consensus for this year. The Kings could have a shot at the best player due to the lack of games played and Scouting.

We all know draft day can be a massive wildcard, but from what I'm hearing, the top six picks *will likely* include these players (in no particular order):
• Power • Beniers • Guenther • McTavish • Hughes
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This would mean the Kings would get a shot at 1 of: Clarke, Eklund or Wallstedt. I am on the Wallstedt train now, if these 7 are gone:
Power • Beniers • Guenther • McTavish • Hughes • Eklund • Clarke. I just believe Wallstedt is the 8th best player at here, if those 7 are
gone. I believe Wallstedt > Johnson, Lucius, Lysell, Edvinsson, Sillinger.

Most Cups won have an elite goalie. Look at the finalists - Carey Price vs Vasilevsky. Montreal is there for their great team play, defense and
some heroics....but without Price, they are golfing. Scott Wheeler thinks Wallstedt is better than Spencer Knight and Askarov.
I like Cal Petersen a lot and he did great in the Worlds....but he's going to be 27 and I know he has his best years ahead, but goalies
take 3 or 4 years and I like the idea of having possibly the best goalie in the world in the wings - and if Cal comes up a little short, in being
elite. Also, even though it may take Wallstedt 3-4 years (and it may be only 2, he was stellar in the SHL at 18) he's still a top asset
and could be dealt in the interim, if A) Cal is awesome and B) A team covets Wallstedt in a yr or 2 and the Kings could get a top center or defenseman
in a deal for him. It should come down to if Wallstedt is available at 8 and he's the best player, take him. Also consider this - the Kings 8OA is an asset
right now. That asset is either a drafted player, or traded before or at the draft. If that player drafted is Wallstedt, he's a King asset that moment and in 1 year from now....2 years
from now, his asset value *may* exceed his value at draft day. Again, I think I would go for Clarke or Eklund, if either falls to 8.

Remember when Seider 'went too high' ? (Seider himself was shocked, when his name was called) Not looking so bad now.

According to John Hoven (#THWLive podcast on 06/24/2021) LA will be willing to trade up during this draft for one of the big four defensemen.
In my opinion if any two of the first seven team will select McTavish and Wallstedt it will helps Kings a lot.
Clarke and Edvinson possibly will be available to LA without trading extra assets.
I do not believe the other two defensemen (Power and Hughes) will be available at all.

I'd think Columbus would be the best trade partner for LA, although they could use a defenseman too with Jones/Werenski staring down UFA in short order.

4. New Jersey - probably taking D, seems unlikely to move down to #8
5. Columbus - maybe a McTavish team and they think they could get him later?
6. Detroit - probably a LD if available?
