RIP my Luke Hughes dreams

We're in pretty much the worst spot frankly, can't really trade this pick for much, and can't really move down since like 8-14 are basically the same. Figures.

Ducks about to torment us with a Hughes-Drysdale pairing for all eternity while DL and co can't figure out what to do with defenseman that can rail a puck around.

Ok wish the Kings would win, but the only team that ended the day in a worse spot than they started the day was the Ducks. I am ok with that

Hey, at least Anaheim Sucks didn't win the 1st overall...

Oh I like the kings position personally... I think you’ll have good options at lhd or skilled forward. Kinda hate Anaheim’s

Next top team in the Pacific after Vegas fades will be the Ducks. Say 4-5 years.

I'm down for Guenther, if plays out like this. Current, updated MyNhlDraft. I like Lucius at 8, but Guenther even more. I see one or either Wallstedt or Edvinsson dropping.
You never know what Yzerman will do...maybe he goes for Wallstedt.

No idea who will pick what, especially with the recent central scouting and MacTavish jumping up.

Buffalo- Powers
Seattle - do they build from center or D?
Anaheim- I can seem them doing D or Beniers/McTavish with Getzlaf dropping and needing a 2c behind Zegras
Jersey- with Hughes and Hisher definitely a D
Columbus - needs centers and D
Detroit - defense? Love their Swedes, goalie? Yzerman wildcard pick?
Sharks- with Burns/Karlsson I can see them picking forward.

I feel like the only LHD that will fall will be Edvinsson and he's just a total wild card imo
I feel like a lot of the draft is a wild card.... but I def think some teams have edvinsson in their top 5. Kings kinda have the assets to move up in draft :naughty: to grab a lhd

also just saw lambos was further down on draft sights, thought he was a top 10 guy

Who is this "DL" character. I am, in real life, a DL and not a BK so if you are talking about me, I imagine I'd do the same exact thing the current forwards do but slightly worse.

As for staying at #8, it is better than falling. Got boned in the Turcotte draft (how nice would it be to have Byram in the pipeline) but were paid back last year. Stayed pat this season so it all evened out.

This pick is firmly in play as part of a package. Granted, this pick could instantly become the team's #3 rated prospect immediately upon being drafted but this pick is probably three years away from making an impact and that is probably best case scenario: three years from an NHL debut is probably more like it. With the amount of prospects already here and two second round picks in this draft, this could be a very nice sweetener.

If Buffalo wants to trade Eichel and hit the rip cord, having 1OA and then 8OA in the same draft is pretty fun along with some sort of blue-chippers coming back. CBJ already has 5OA/23OA/25OA in this draft. Adding 8 to that and some sort of other piece(s) for Jones would be pretty nice for a rebuilding squad.

this draft is a total wild card with lack of info /performance by these kids. Which makes being at #8 spot pretty good. Great chance, if you pick right, to get one of the best players. Also means higher chance of a bust too. But better to bust at #8 then in the top 3. Pressure is on Seattle/Ducks to pick right.
I like our spot. Just glad we didn't get jumped over by 1-2 teams.
Suck that we won't get one of the top 4 Dmen likely. But let others go for the top D, goalie and maybe a reach or two.....and we pounce at #8 to get a heck of a winger/C.

IF we do not trade our pick, get comfortable with the name Jasper Wallsteadt. It is a very strong possibility he comes to LA at 8th overall, especially if none of the 4 top defensemen are available.

Would be pretty interesting if Blake took a goalie in the Top 10. It is probably an organizational need but so is a winger: especially if a winger is BPA at that spot.

Kings have shit-load of young goaltenders, but Wallstedt is intriguing!
