Reichel - Dach - Lysell looks pretty good.
Agreed.

Lysell has elite potential. He only played 7 minutes a game with Lulea which is why he'll probably be available with our pick.

But the upside is there. Had he gotten consistent minutes to shine, I think he'd be projected to go much higher. At 11, he's a steal imo.

What have you Heard ?
no I didn't hear anything just that bigger power forward type scorer that busts feeling and from video I don't like his skating and only seems to try hard or give an effort when the puck is near or waits up ice for teammates to break out the puck.

See, that's the thing with this group beyond the first 1 0-----Chaz is a poor skater, Sillinger (knockneed and see above), Fabian (suspect attitude), Coronato (headed to Harvard for 4 years and perhaps inflated stats), etc.....this is the draft to trade down and gamble on the numbers game!

Trading up to draft a goalie is just....no.
Worked for Dallas when they traded up with Chicago to pick Oettinger.

I wonder if goalie evaluation has improved so it's not as chaotic a choice as it used to be.

Tbf, they traded up 3 spots at the end of the first round. The value difference at that point in the draft isn't really comparable to the top-10.

The problem, I don't believe, is evaluation. Is the kid tall? Does he move well; is he athletic? Does he track the puck? Does he make the saves? These are all things scouts can discern. The problem is goaltenders themselves are voodoo.

I've been saying this for months now but unless you get a faller like Johnson, Wallstedt and Lysell are going to be the best bets for the Hawks.

For a guy with a suspect attitude, Lysell really busted his ass as a 4th liner in the SHL.

Absolutely. Honestly some of the most I've seen a player make out of 7 minutes a game. And he was doing it in the SHL. Being 14 on Bob's list makes him an underrated player in this year's draft, but hey that's good for us.

BTW, after doing more research I'm perfectly fine with Lysell or Raty.

I don't think Coronato is a good fit. Lysell is skilled enough that it would make it worth it at 11. Will Scouch has him like 3rd or 4th. He also has Raty 11th or so.

A lot less risk in the 4th round.

Lysell’s “attitude issues” I believe came from him wanting to play more and his coach not doing so. It sounds like he’s confident in his abilities and wanted more playing time so he can prove himself in his draft year. Does that sound like something that should be avoided? No, and I’m sure we’re interviewing the players extensively. Based on what Mark Kelley said about Lysell, I don’t think it’s an issue for us. I agree with @Kevin Musto that he has elite potential. Love his ceiling and his overall game. He’s a bit of a pest with a solid two way game and really good hands.

I have no opinion on Lysell or his perceived attitude issues. Just pointing out that if a 4th round pick doesn't work out, it doesn't really matter. An 11th overall pick? That's a setback for the org if you don't get a useful player there.
