Wouldn’t touch Power in the top 10 after his hints of staying in college. He’s not so much better compared to other options that I’d even risk it.

It's not draft time.

But Power is most def first.
What's your preliminary list look like?

Yeah the kids a total wild card. I can't believe he would say something like this.....

"Right now, I'm probably leaning more towards going back to school," Power told "NHL Now." "It's something I'd like to do just trying to get the true experience of playing college hockey. At the end of the day, it obviously depends on what the team wants and what everyone around me thinks is best."

Aka "Please dear God not Buffalo".

Also I am not a rink rat nor have any scouting insight, but I just get the feeling this draft is going to be a bit of a crapshoot and will mirror the 2017 draft.

Draft Day:
1. Nico Hischier
2. Nolan Patrick
3. Miro Heiskanen
4. Cale Makar
5. Elias Pettersson

Re -Draft
1. Cale Makar
2. Elias Pettersson
3. Miro Heiskanen
4. Martin Necas
5. Hischier (even that's a maybe)

I would not be shocked if a few years out we are laughing at Power being taken #1 and whoever the Hawks take being available at 11. Covid makes it all weird

That would be great if it actually happened, I'd take that risk at #11.

Too many holes with this team to risk losing out on this pick never playing a game for us. It was probably said to Buffalo doesn’t take him because who would want to go there, but I wouldn’t risk it.

It's pretty likely Eichel is getting traded so I think that Buffalo is going to take Beniers.

I would if I were them too. I don’t think there is a chance in hell Power slides to our pick anyway, but if I’m a team picking before us I don’t even consider him personally.

There have been lots of comparisons to Toews/Bergeron and those types win teams Cups. Power is good but forwards are safer at #1.

I'm incredibly intrigued by Coronato. Might be a lazy comp, but I'll take another DeBrincat/Caufield type on my team any day. I can easily see the argument for taking another potential center of the future with there being the possibility Strome is gone, and Toews' health being a concern potentially even with yesterday's good news.

Yeah I really want a center. I don’t even need one with stud 1C potential but even a good with a low floor and a 2 way game who skates above average.

I think you take the shot on Raty at #11. It's risky, but he's their best shot at getting an elite talent.

It's similar to what the Sox did last year with Garrett Crochet.

Let me get this straight. You wouldn't draft Owen Power in the TOP TEN, because he said he might want to play college hockey next year?

He's the closest defensive prospect to Victor Hedman since....well....Victor Hedman. Any team that passes him up is likely going to regret it. I think Power's FLOOR is a good #2, on a contender. There's not a team in the NHL that couldn't use what he will likely turn into.

He thinks there is a concern that he goes full Blake Wheeler, especially because he's already used a year of NCAA eligibility.

as others have said, could be him trying to push buffalo toward another player

The Sabres drafting Power with him going back to NCAA is risky because look at the mess that is Sabres

Everyone else drafting Power potentially would not have same concern

Only Sabres are team I could see a Hayes pulled on right now
