This draft class is seen as pretty weak correct?

Slim chance the Rangers move anywhere in the lottery so who are we realistically looking at around 16?

Someone needs to grab McDonald's badge from Gorts for a shot at Beniers. Getting greedy.
or use Mika or Buch as bait to move up

Yes, relatively weak compared to most. IMO stay where they are or trade the pick for help now...

I don't think it has the depth of 2018, 2019 or 2020. The timing of those drafts and the Rangers re-stock was quite fortuitous.

Having said that, I don't know if this is a weak draft for certain yet. I think there's more mystery to it, but there's some intriguing options as well.

At 15, names I heard previously - Sillinger, McTavish, Raty, Bolduc, Pinelli, Chibrikov, Svechkov, Bourgault. Of those I would probably underline McTavish for the Rangers. I also would not completely rule out Wallstedt.

Would be fine with literally any of these picks at this point. After 4 years amassing 8 1st round picks including #1 and #2 we don’t need to hit a home run here. Pick whatever and see what happens.

Thanks. Is McTavish the son of the helmetless icon?

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that I think he’s going to be fair game in the teens. I’ve heard of at least several teams that are quite high on him - including our boys. If you’re looking for a guy with decently high floor and the potential to become an important middle six contributor, Svechkov is right in that conversation.

Personally I have him at least in the same debate as someone like Raty.

Stupidity?
Time Value of Drafts? Every first year NHL Analyst needs to do a Discounted Roster Flow analysis, so they understand this, if they want to move up to Associate by 24.

There is a greater likelihood of picking outside top-10 in a league of 32 than in a league of 31.

That’s all I can muster.

There are teams who might think they are gonna be good next year who won’t really be, so they think it’s ok to give up a later first.

Yeah, i think some others may have higher potential (see: Chibrikov, Nikita) but the 2 players i've really zoned in where the Rangers pick are Svechkov & Raty. Both smart, quick Centers w/ a good defensive game, with 2C ceilings if they put things together but probably still NHLers if they don't

Do what the Giants did.. trade assets for next years draft and sign some true grit..

love the idea yet Dolan made this a win now team. That 22 draft class looks really good but maybe this rebuild needs kickstart beyond young talent. I cannot envision this roster being competitive with most of these playoff teams.
