Horrific loss by the Giants.

Rogers can not pitch in the 9th inning. Ruf can not hit as a pinch hitter. Hard to criticize Kapler but perhaps he goes too far with the lefty righty thing sometimes.

Rays continue to be an exciting team to watch!

Walk off win when it looked like the Baltimore Orioles were about to wrap them up.
This gives TB the series 2 of 3 and coupled with the 2 of 3 taken from the Atlanta Braves, the defending American League Champions have gotten the post All Star Game schedule off to a good start.

More importantly, this win pulls TB within a half game of the division leading Red Sox.

On to the four game set in Cleveland.

Go Rays GO!

Watching some Royals at Brewers.

A somewhat controversial call by the umpire calling a Brewer bunt fair, when the Royals third basemen picked it up after claiming it was foul.
It is a non reviewable call, but the replay we see at home DID show it was foul.

Brewers are awarded the hit and the extra out and, as often happens between bad teams (Royals) and good teams (Brewers), the very next Milwaukee hitter gets a double and erases the 2-0 lead KC had to start the inning.

Tough break for the Royals, kudos to the Brewers for not letting an opportunity slip by.

As I finish this post, Milwaukee adds another run and the inning is still going for them, but they now have a 3-2 lead.

Milwaukee Brewers.
Looks like they are back to their exciting baseball ways.

No MLB pitching figuring out a minor leaguer ruined him.. One good month does not a MLB player make

He was dreadful over final 32 games he played (32 games it should be noted after the HR in Minnesota) and was struggling before that (His BA and OBP were dropping fast before the Twins game)

He cant play any position so he has no value outside of DH spot and with him struggling to hit it was no brainer for Sox to send him down

Also with Sheets success at ML level and Eloy + Robert on comeback trail he wasn't going to be back on ML roster anytime soon

Since I am seeing already TLR/Hahn are to blame for "Destroying his career" and "Making him walk away"

His play fell off badly after hot start

April
22 games
.415 BA
5 HR
16 RBI
455 OBP
.659 SLG
1.113 OPS

May
28 games
.221 BA
2 HR
14 RBI
.292 OBP
.326 SLG
.619 OPS

June
18 games
.159 BA
7 RBI
.221 OBP
.190 SLG
.411 OPS

ML pitchers figured him out and his inability to contribute anywhere else since he cant play a position makes keeping him on ML roster when he is not hitting impossible

Yermin clearly isn't happy with his demotion but it was well justified

Mercedes didn't hit AA until he was 24 and didn't stick there until he was 26. He hit only .289/.362/.478 as a 25 year old in High-A.

He's just not a very good hitter, on a fundamental level.

Its absolutely ludicrous how Cashman isn't canned already and replaced by someone from the Rays.

People were pissed the Rays traded Snell for pennies on the dollars and to the surprise of absolutely no one they replace him with ease and somehow are better than they were.

It's ridiculous how that team develops great players as fast as they ship them out

They really are.

Snell and Paddack have been unlucky when looking at their k and whip rates. I think their era’s will start gravitating to the mean and the Pads will be even more dangerous.

AJ Hinch needs some MOY love if Detroit finishes within five games of .500

The last thing Hinch deserves is recognition for anything.

Glad Detroit is playing well (Baddoo for selfish reasons), but Hinch will always be a skid mark on the underwear of baseball.

Brooks Kriske (yes that is a real name) just took a giant dump on the Fenway Park mound. 4 wild pitches in an inning!! I am quite sure I have never seen that before. Red Sox complete the comeback.
