I thought this new generation of slovaks would be same level as finland. But it looks like they are even better than that. We are talking canada-level here.

No way, we aren’t there yet. Canada has much greater depth and high end Dman and forwards all over the lineup. However it is nice to see our boys control the game

A down tournament for them. Cant blame on missing players, all teams are missing players.

Yup, they have a B team but even than their B team is still very good. I remember Hlinka when it was first year in Canada, a few years back. That American team was so good

Canada is pushing it.
But I hate when people refer to this run as a miracle (like that article on Dvorsky someone posted in the Slovak prospects thread). We have seen a bunch of miracles in Slovak hockey over the past decade (2012 WC, 2015 WJC). This tournament isn't a miracle, the team just is this good right now. We just have to hope that the player will stay on this path at men's level as well.

What do you slovaks say, Is team finland better than Sweden? If they are, the final game could end with 8-0 to slovakia or something lol.
This is the worst age group since 91's for Finland, I wouldn't call it very good.

This is also work of Slovak U18 project. I have to give hockey federation credit, they have really helped these guys take skills and skating to next level. Skating especially. Do any of the slovak users remember a slovak team throughout the entire lineup that can skate this well?
"needless" to remind but Finland has never won this tournament in its 30 year history so nothing new here. This happends every year

He's had even more glaring mistakes – even prior to the disastrous 2nd period. The outstanding goalie in this game has clearly been Eliaš. Hopefully, in the 3rd period, the team plays for him to get the shutout, which may be good for confidence prior to the final game.

Yep. But slovak coaches have a tendacy to select players becuse of their last name. Best players should be taken, not name of their jersey.
The Finnish D is really rough and the effort level just can't compare to Slovakia's. Really wish Slovakia was in the U18s this year cause man they got a solid solid team.
