IIHF - World Juniors COVID-19 test resultsTweet says that 8 delegates tested positive. Pretty sure not all are players
In total, there were 10 positive tests involving two teams:
Team Germany: 8 players tested positive for COVID-19
Team Sweden: 2 staff members tested positive for COVID-19
This is a tad odd, that link says 8 players and a prolonged quarantine until Dec 24 whilst the official statement by the German delegation talks about 8 'staff members' and a quarantine until the 23rd.
No, they won't. They'll be playing, as is it perfectly reasonable that they do.That sucks, when I read the google translation it said 8 members of the Germany delegation which I took could mean players and coaching staff. I assume the name of the players will be released at some point.

How the heck did 8 players get infected between boarding the plane and touchdown in the bubble?

In my country, its illegal to release anyones medical report without their permission. I can safely assume its the same everywhere.
unfit to playI forgot about that, even in the NHL they labeled those players as “out indefinitely” or something like that.

I read elsewhere that the players disembarked in Reykjavik and wandered through the airport. That’s NOT a bubble. The iihf was definitely disorganized on these flights.

Exactly. If these players tested positive the day they entered the bubble or the day after it is far more likely they got infected 4-5 days earlier as that is the most common incubation period. In other words they got it a couple days before travelling and it popped up once entering the bubble.I can't be sure of this but based on the flight tracker I was following for the flights they didn't go to the terminal building in Reykjavik but some other FBO to get fuel. It would be unlikely they went into that FBO and then reboarded since they would need airstairs, and I doubt most FBO's could handle that number of personnel just hanging around for no reason just to reboard. Plus the fact there were video of the other teams waiting onboard their aircraft in Reykjavik and were told they weren't allowed off.
Not sure what information I'm supposed to be seeing in that link to support them getting off the airplane in Reykjavik.
How does people not understand there's an incubation period for this virus? It's entirely possible some of them contracted it from Lukas Reichel or Nino Kinder for example because it can be a long time from exposure to testing positive. They were all in contact with them less than 2 weeks ago.
