Giants secondary has been an abomination. Somehow with adding Jackson, they got worse.

It's almost as if they need a pass rush or something.

Maybe we can draft another few big, plodding run stuffers, though. Since that seems to be Gettleman's ideal way of fixing the pass rush.

I'm not advocating for Gettleman. Slammed left and right on lots of things, deservedly, but he deserves a little bit of credit with first round draft picks.

Barkley - can argue NO RB at #2 all day, sure, but can't argue his talent level. He's elite when healthy...just a damn shame what's been happening to him.

Jones - very talented, though remains to be seen if he can put it all together long term.

Lawrence - solid DT

Thomas - Really coming into his own...been excellent this year, and starting to show he was worthy of top 5

Toney - loaded with talent...can't deny that.

Unfortunately, DG has blown chunks at every other facet of GMing.

He was elite for one year. His second year he was decent but not elite (this is born out by the analytics as well). When he's been healthy since then, his play has also trended down since teams have figured him out. Barkley is just not a great player. He refuses to adapt his game.

Bottom line - his record is 16-37 with a so/so OL, zero pass rush and a deplorable cap going forward (2022).

Yes, because he failed in free agency. He's had one big signing that worked (Bradberry), and even that one is starting to be questionable with the huge step back Bradberry has taken this season.

My point was, the first round picks haven't been half bad. Lots of teams strike out even just getting quality players.

I know Atlanta is not a good team. They still have weapons tho on offense that can give teams problems including the Jets. That said, if Ridley is out, I think the Jets win the game by more than 2 TD's...instead of 31-21...I think we are looking at 31-14 something like that.

Saquon is uber talented and brings every great intangible you'd want but he'd be a bad pick even if he was performing at levels closers to his rookie season. Unfortunately his career has been a mostly brutal mix of injuries and mediocre play.

He's one of the worst draft picks in franchise history. It sucks to say for such a likable guy but its what it is. The best thing they could do is ultimately close this chapter and NOT extend him when the time comes. Don't double down.

This is true. He hunts SO hard for the home run play and it creates some incredible stat lines. Lmfao Saquon can put up like 75 yards on 16 carries with 66 of them coming on one rush.

Jets need another draft where they add a stud shut down CB, a stud edge rusher, another bigtime O-Lineman and a significant FA signing or two, stay healthy for a change of friggen pace and they'll be a playoff team as soon as 2023.

We got some pieces but just like the Rangers last year, the rebuild tho just about over needs a few more pieces to the puzzle and we'll turn the corner. That said, yesterday was terribly disappointing versus a very beatable Falcon team.

So, in other news, Jon Gruden is a complete and utter piece of trash.

Gruden’s messages were sent to Bruce Allen, the former president of the Washington Football Team, and others, while he was working for ESPN as a color analyst during “Monday Night Football,” the sports network’s weekly prime-time telecast of N.F.L. games. In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “f****t” and a “clueless anti football p***y” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “queers,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.

In numerous emails during a seven-year period ending in early 2018, Gruden criticized Goodell and the league for trying to reduce concussions and said that Eric Reid, a player who had demonstrated during the playing of the national anthem, should be fired. In several instances, Gruden used a homophobic slur to refer to Goodell and offensive language to describe some N.F.L. owners, coaches and journalists who cover the league.
