7-8 year x 5 million AAV deal for Hyman after bringing back Mike Smith for multiple years. Oilers gonna Oiler.
Kenny Holland has been washed up for years.

He hasn't made many bad moves yet with Edmonton because he hasn't had any cap space.

Now that he has some room to play, we'll get some great confirmation of him being way past his due date as an NHL GM.

I don't even know what to expect once 1pm hits.

Conflicting reports from insiders last night regarding how many trades to expect, either a bunch or only a couple.

I don’t think much apart from possibly Stralman trade. Don’t buy the Vatrano rumors

I guess Wennberg is re signed for a year or two, and Bennett for a year or so. Hope we don’t block the GOAT

Ehh I wouldn't be against it, just to confirm last season wasn't a fluke. Also gives us some flexibility cap wise for the year after with Yandle's buyout taking up $5mil

Gotta disagree here… It wouldn’t give us cap-flexibility next year, because if he confirms, Bennett would want a much bigger contract than what we can sign him for this year on a « long-term » deal…

Would much rather find a way to get him signed for 3-4 years this summer ! :)

Yeah I get what you mean from Bennett's perspective.

Honestly, I am not entirely sold with Bennett. I think he was a passenger to Huberdeau.. but by the same token that is what we need right? Someone who can mesh with Huberdeau (Look at Hyman, LOL). I am just worried about contract and about giving a position to someone who really isn't worth it while others can step in.

I think a 1 year deal would be ideal. Who knows if Bennett is the real deal. What if Lundell steps in ala Barkov and takes the 2nd line position. With the same reasoning, Bennett could be a second line center. Whether you like it or not, Bennett is still an ongoing experiment.

I am rooting for the guy regardless. We need someone who is passionate, who can muck it up in the boards, stick up for teammates and put points up. He looks like he has it, hopefully he sticks to that over the majority of an 82 game season.

In order to agree with this sentiment, I would need to completely ignore the way Huberdeau was playing down the stretch before the trade and how wildly his play swings depending on his linemates.

Yeah He's definitely a passenger but he was physical and kept up great offensively. I don't want to lose that dimension at all to our team. Lundell is a mystery box right now. He's going to be a great player, but will it be next year immediately? I don't envy Zito lol.

If Bennett wants a long term deal he has to prove it first. A two year deal somewhere around 3.5 million and then cash in if his game has shown to be sustainable.

I anticipate a team friendly deal for Bennett to be honest.

He is about to get lesser term and money than Hyman. Big laughs.

Jameson deleted it. But he said Zito was going to do the draft from a Yacht club

lmfao. What?

In my opinion thats not good enough. He should do the draft from an actual yacht.
