A.J. Greer Misconduct - Abuse of officials, 10 min
[TBODY] [/TBODY]
I didn’t get to watch the game but being a psycho who can’t control himself is a major problem for Greer. You simply can’t be an effective pest/energy guy if you can’t control your anger and he can’t.

I don’t know how much further he could have gone without this problem but it certainly has hindered his career and probably one of the reasons he’s with his third organization as a RFA.

I posted a clip of him prematurely jumping out of penalty box to fight Jarad Tinordi as he was leaving the other one. That was good for three game misconducts in one game: one for leaving the penalty box for a fight, one for a second fight, and one for a secondary altercation. (That happened in 2019-20 season on the Colorado Eagles, in October 2019, and he got suspended six games.)

Colorado was also probably influenced by when when he and Sonny Milano got charged with assault for a fight with an acquaintance over a bar tab in off-season before the 2019-20 season, though they finally traded him on Oct 11, 2020. (Columbus shipped Milano out at the 2020 TDL.)

The Tinordi penalty box fight and six game suspension came right after they resigned him despite the criminal charges, so the Avs were probably particularly sick of Greer’s antics.

Getting that particular Game Misconduct in the first game of the season in Utica after starting on the top line is a prime example of Greer’s ability to shoot himself in the foot with his uncontrollable temper yet again and he’s going to 25 in December so this is really a bad look. (I didn’t see the game but he needs to control himself, particularly with officials so I don’t need to see it.)

Greer ran the goalie and Rochester took umbrage. The Amerks G chirped Greer while he was entangled with Scarfo and then Greer punched the G in the chest. That's when the refs gave him the thumb.

Not sure what he did or said to get abuse of the officials but he looked for a good 10-15 seconds there like he had completely lost his mind and was spazzing out.

Looked like he tried climbing over the linesman that was trying to break things up to get a shot at the Amerks goalie. To be fair UPL skated around the net when the scrum was almost over to get Greer going again.

Given what preseason looked like I thought the Comets had a chance to be decent. Good start.

Has Utica announced any COVID protocols? Basically I'm asking if I need documentation to get into a game.
Vaccinated - wearing a mask is suggested
Not Vaccinated - wearing a mask is required
Children under 12 - wearing a mask is required

They are currently not requiring any proof of vaccine at the door so you don't have to bring anything with you. Subject to change of course if the state or county push down any COVID mitigation requirements.
