That last shift before the goal is an example of why Vilardi will never be anything in the league and can’t stay in the lineup for even a fringe playoff team decimated by injuries and lacking offensive skill. Just gets completely outmuscled for a 50/50 puck by a smaller but hungrier player in Beniers, then of course loses the foot race into the zone enabling Beniers to set up his line mate for a prime scoring chance. He skates like someone 6’8 and has the physicality of someone 5’8. Not a good combo.

Every time when you are saying how bad Is Vilardi you are proving how bad you are in evaluating real talent.

Edmonton toward end of the season was winning low scoring games - thats what concerns me. They learned to play more playoff style. We will see what their strategy is against the Kings. Id like to see Danault line on 97s and take our chances w Kopi's on Draisaitl's.. Kane was a big pickup for them.. he's been pretty potent. Smith has tightened up a lot last part of the season. We will see if he keeps that going or not.. before that was EDM achilles heal.

The Kings are the best team in the NHL in terms of shots against on the road.

I don't see why suddenly there would be a drastic change in that.
 
Its actually possible Vilardi would flourish in another org.. you cant compare alternate realities.. but given how few O players the Kings have develop its entirely possible the emphasis on the 2 way games stifles the shit out of creative players.. The other thing about GV is his back problems stole more than a year of his development. So Im still not going to write him off not by a long shot.

Lol look who climbs out of their hole again. The worst poster/homer on the board. Amazing the person who says Quinton Byfield is better than Quinn Hughes brings up others talent evaluations.

My favorite part about people like this is they will tell you for 25 games that “you are just a stat watcher” when their favorite offensive player does nothing statistically for months. Yet as soon as their favorite player has a point or two they use the same statistics to come on here and call you clueless. So which is it Kinghock do stats matter or do they not? If they don’t matter why are you coming on here beating your chest? And if they do matter then why does he have 5 points in 25 games.

Honestly, just a waste of my time. I’ve never seen anyone contribute less. I engage with everyone from RJ to even GBH, I’ve never ignored anyone before but, well there has never in 20+ years been a worse poster.

I thought the one in Anaheim with VA and Danault was the correct overturn to a goal and I think this one was the correct overturn too, strictly because of the blue paint part of it. Never want to return to the days of a toe in the crease but if you are preventing the goalie from making a save or shouldn’t count.

But man, this Seattle team is channeling the mid 1990’s LA Kings escort service. Charlie Huddy and Tim Watters would be proud

I see your point. I am just terrified at the thought of Quick getting injured playing in front of the Kings B team in what is basically an exhibition game against maybe the worst roster in the league.

But the cold and rusty factor could be a concern too. Just can’t wait for the clocks to strike 00:00 in this game and tomorrows.

This kid has been a god-send to the Kings the last 25 or so games. I think he might end up being better than Voynov.
