I think one of the memories I will miss the most is the 2014 series against The Sharks. Quick was getting light up x 1000 in the first 3 games but his mental toughness and leadership led the team to come back from the dead.

As I recall he was also getting run all series by Rafi f***ing Torres and POS Mike Brown but Quick just doesn't take any shit out there. What a f***ing warrior.

One for the record books.

Tommy Wingels. That's the little shit that kept crashing into Quick.

I always had a theory that when a goal is challenged and the call is reversed so it now count for your team, you won't be getting anymore calls the rest of the game. The 3rd period proved my theory. Here's everyones goldenboy Zegras with an open ice pick on Edlars. Moments before he hooked Durzi at the blueline entering the zone. There were 3 penalties on that one shift that were ignored. But hey, "game management" right?

There were a few calls that were definitely let go, I don't think this was one of them.

Tommy Wingels still sounds like a medieval disease to me.

"He's got the Tommy Wingels!! Grab the leeches!!!!"

zegras is a bit of a shithead on D, seems to mainly consist of crosschecking you at contact, then whoever skates away with the puck gets slashed. very marchessault-y

iafallo had a zone entry in the 3rd i think where he was completely unsupported, just trying to get it deep and zegras looked for one of those shitty marchand type hip checks as he skated to the bench, coming back up from his zone when iafallo was already engaged. just a goofy attempt to get a cheap one in

We had one pp, in the 1st I think, that was it. This was an old school straight up Scott Steven era interference penalty. Just picked him clean and straight to the ice he went. Pretty sure if the score wasn't 2-1, Zegras would've been crosscheck into the ice a moment later.

Did you see the one he threw at Kopitar at the end with the net empty? Kopitar just shruggled it off and cleared it anyway and gave him the stink eye. .

Yep, should have had 2 or 3, but out of the more egregious calls that weren't made, this wasn't one of them, that's all I am saying.

yeah after he took those real hard digs at the puck in the corner, maybe he'll learn but he's too emotional now

i like the kid but the cheapshot stuff is not his game and everyone knows it, he'll never answer for that stuff and he's already proven he cries to the media instead

The best I have ever seen Quick was during the first two rounds in 2013 (playoffs) and not 2012.

Nobody was able to score a goal and it was due to Quick we made it to the WCF.

100% agreed (as someone who was at all of the home playoff games in 2013). Quick was outstanding in the 2012 run and very good in the 2014 one, but IMHO the first two rounds in 2013 were his absolute pinnacle. It's a shame Richards got whacked, Kopitar was basically sleepwalking most of that playoffs, and Muzzin was very obviously experiencing severe growing pains - with Quick playing like he was, I believe an engaged and (mostly) healthy Kings team could've prevailed vs. Chicago (and probably then could've beaten Boston)...

This line is a problem.

Lemieux looks like he stopped trying. Kupari isn't much of a player (yet). Kaliyev is too slow for the NHL game as of now.

Todd will give them 5min of TOI in the playoffs.
On thing about DS he was always focused on the playoffs recognizing the style and the rules are different (recall his disregard for the shootout he hated it and didnt necessarily put out the best shooters). He played regular season as if it was already playoffs. I wonder how the Kings are going to adjust... esp considering that Brown and Kopi look worn out already. What should the deployment be?

yeah, he's been really bad since his return. The entire 4th line was pretty trashy too. Kupari is just not an nhl center. I only noticed him taking a penalty, and giving up a scoring chance. Put Valardi or Byfield there instead.

Byfield and Vilardi have been worse than Kupari though, and the coaches seem to agree. Kupari was the best of the Miller High Life Line for most of its run.

man, they were horrible. Especially cringe-worthy when they credited the Kings first goal to AA.
Something seemed off with Melrose. Didn't know player names or much of the context of the season the Kings have had. It was like he hadn't prepared for the broadcast.

I like Levy ok as a play by play guy. Levy and Darren Pang was a good combo years ago.

The Gibson trip that was exactly like the Quick one, whoever cleaned out AA with that trip, whoever cleaned out AA with the center ice pick just like the one above...they were actively TRYING To take penalties and couldn't.

Did you see the one he threw at Kopitar at the end with the net empty? Kopitar just shruggled it off and cleared it anyway and gave him the stink eye. .

Honestly seeing it live was hilarious. Kopitar isn't a primadonna at all but the look was like "are you f***ing kidding me you plug?"

Deep breath

hahahahahaha

Even so he wasn't at C for it, he looked lost again last night.

That whole 4th line is a problem now but it won't matter because TM is gonna play 22-18-14-6 in the playoffs anyway.

I swear at one point Levy called Melrose "Panger" by mistake. I'm pretty sure he was waiting for Melrose to respond to something he said, but Melrose didn't say anything. It was kind of awkward.

Levy and Melrose had no chemistry whatsoever. I blame Melrose’s Bane-like mumbling and adding very little substance about what was happening. It was a banter-fest.

Levy is actually good on his own.
