I thought that to, but looking at the replay Maatta had committed to the puck handler and Lemieux for some reason left Ryan to also play the puck carrier.

Lemieux has been awful, two big blunders.
 
Talentless team. The amount they whiff on loose pucks and converting spontaneous opportunities is mind blowing

Honestly this team is so talentless they can never convert and whiff nonstop

It was an awful breakdown by many, and every single Oiler, including Mike Smith, touched the puck that led to the goal.

This has been yet another soft ass effort against a dividiom rival. So much for thinking these games will mimic intense, playoff hockey. The Kings just continue to be passive aggressive.
 
After seeing a bunch of kids play this year and all the BS about the aggressive style of play they want to push, I have more questions than answers for this team going forward.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be a HUGE response for Kane's hit. I bet we'll even hit them in the scoreboard where it counts! Need to send these guys a message in case we meet them in the playoffs, this is the kings, baby.

Roy's looked pretty good. Lemieux was kind of slumping before he got injured... he's not looking so good tonite.. I think he'll get it back tho

With all the top forward picks the last few years - Vilardi, Kupari, Turcotte, Kaliyev, Byfield....and the next level picks - JAD, Thomas, Fagemo....one of those players should be busting out for 20 goals now. (oh, in the NHL. Not AHL) It's so very disheartening.

Maybe they should only draft defensemen and develop them and trade their surplus D for established NHL scorers under age 28.

I think the mantra is...work hard, go to the Reign, learn the system. Cycle, grind, play 200 feet....when you get your callup, watch Kopi. He is your ultimate model. (wrong model) You will get 6-8 minutes on line 4.
Go out and get pucks deep....try to keep the zone and kill 45 seconds and get off the ice! Our top 2 lines will go out and play hockey. Don't try anything on your own...you need your 2 zombie checking, cycling linemates. You are a unit...but one of you must remain high. So, maybe by next year, if you are a good grinder, you can see some time on line 3.

The ones that break that model...or one, is Trevor Moore. He would rather have his model be a Patrick Kane and
bust through defenses, have elite jump from first 3 steps and go to the goal. AND FUKKING FINISH, And has no celebration or smile and just acts like that's his job. And then do it again.....unlike AI, who could never ever make finishes like that...or ever be savage on offense.

Guys like Kane always in the end hurt their team. The dude is a no-mind. Maybe Lemieux can egg him into a penalty again.
 
I forgot which year it was where the kings were playing good and then after the new year the collapsed. Reminds me of that year with how bad they are

Yup. They needed just one of them to hit and they haven’t. Especially from 2017 and 2019. Just one of Suzuki, Zegras, Norris, Caufield, Boldy or Thomas and this team is much further along in the current and the future.
