The banter part was actually fine, but she is unnatural and lost in calling the action. I’d much rather listen to Linda Cohn just talk hockey than hear Leah Hextall struggle to keep up with the play, and her unauthentic enthusiasm on goal calls.

I hear you.. I dont like it either.. she's a rookie on top of it..like Faust.. But Leah at least seems like someone that might drink an IPA or do a shot...

All this technology and we can't create a Bob Miller AI to call games? There are already trackers in the pucks and on jerseys, so it seems doable. Heck, he doesn't even need to go in a sound booth to record his voice since there are tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of hours of him calling games.

Re commentators whats everybody's favorite. Bob is my favorite PxP all time. Jim Hughson is 2nd, 3rd is Gary Thorn .. Color commentators... I dont have a big preference. Announcing teams id rank 1. Hughson/Simpson , 2. Thorn/Clement. In general Canadian hockey broadcasts I find way more interesting - they dont have to sell hockey to the fans like NBC did. They give you details about player's Junior days, focus on pure hockey stuff no fluff.

So I take it you weren't a fan of those "hockey for women" segments Fox Sports did during Kings games a number of years back? I personally think they should dust them off, update and redo. Maybe Leah could do it although a more well known person (like our VP) would be far more effective: Hockey is a game played on ice with crooked sticks in a building called a rink. It has a red line down the middle...

Honestly dont remember those - i get why they try those things to grow the viewership here in socal ... and we had Bob so made everything more tolerable
 
Here we go! Big game tonight! A win pushes us reaaaally close to the playoffs.
