Props to Petersen as well, had a great game. Maatta continues to look solid on D, and Lizotte is playing well too. Glad AA is contributing, we're gonna need it with Arvy out.

Brown deployment is def a head scratcher... he is playing at a slower speed than everyone else out there both skating and decision making.. and yet he's getting extra shifts and PP time. The contempt should be directed at the coaching staff not 23, tho.

Scoreboard, baby.

If JAD can play on the top line, why can't Vilardi?

Kempe - Kopitar - Vilardi

That'd be a killer line.

Realistically, assuming Arvidsson is out tomorrow, I'd like to see...

Athanasiou - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Kaliyev
Iafallo - Byfield - Grundstrom
JAD - Lizotte - Brown

Its puzzling isnt it? You have a guy who pencils in as bottom 6 center JAD - and you have him on the top line. And you have a guy who pencils in as top 6 Kaliyev and you have him on the 4th line.

yes and now they dont have the excuse of not breaking up the 4th line w 48 out.. so yes to Kaliyev on the 2nd line

JAD still adjusting to the speed

Brown getting double shifted is lol

If only we could scratch AA every other game, he'd be a PPG player for 41 games a year. he'd still be allergic to checking but at least that might make up for it

Petersen earned that one, he was focused and clutch, don't forget the save on Thompson with seconds left in the 1st period, that was NEARLY a previous-Kings special.

Arvidsson going down would be awful. Lemieux was rough enough. Now the mission for the road trip would just be to get back healthy and in relatively one piece. I'd argue for the ice time to even out but we are far beyond that point anyway.

These were important points, I'm basically writing tomorrow off as a loss, not out of belief but out of 8 games in 13 now across the country on the road with a banged up roster. If they can even get a point it will be a 'win' but otherwise a mediocre road trip that at least saw them start to right some bad habits. Get home, get safe, and get ready for three weeks in our time zone with only mini roadies to SJS and VGK.

Will probably have TM back as well for stability/continuity's sake but if Arvidsson is actually out, that's gonna be the first major shakeup in the top siahahhahahaah jk that just means Brown moves up and we have to tinker with the 3rd/4th lines.

I’d like to see Vilardi up too, but folks wondering why JAD is on the 1st line should watch his work in Ontario from earlier this year. They asked him to go down and work on his offensive game, and he did exactly that. He led the team in PPG, and I believe was over a Pt/G as well.

It’s important for an organization that players see others get rewarded for achieving what they’re asked, so I’ve got no problem with it even if I’d prefer Vilardi there.

For once I agree with your pairings.

Happy for Cal. Solid game from him. Remember he was a Sabre's draftee that decided not to sign. He's probably feeling good about the decision at the moment.

Liked what I saw from Byfield today. The production will come eventually. Maybe not this season, but it will come.

Once again, wins on the road verse East teams while losing to a Pacific team.

When you play that tight of a defensive structure, it makes opposing fans miserable, but it sure makes you an effective road team.
