This team needs to wake the F up and give Kaliyev a much larger role the rest of the way. You want to know what an impact young player looks like, this is it, he is simply at another level better than any of the other young forwards this team has tried this year and he is being wasted in the role he is playing.

Ya thats just coach speak for his political decision to give Brown 3rd line wing.. I dont know, its pretty obvious they Kings have a need for a shooter and they dont use him.. its actually f-ing crazy

Vets played like someone threatened their summer vacation, Doughty on ice for every goal against, Kopitar for 3.

Two games in a row the team at-large but especially the core just straight outworked.

Maybe they're surprised by the extra attention, first string goaltending, teams taking them seriously, not gonna get 'easy' games the rest of the season...but I was under the impression these situations were exactly what the vets were here for. Instead, they're getting steamrolled by their counterparts while they 'conserve.' For what, who knows.

Can't just dump this one on Brown too, it's not just him he's better than.

He is a better offensive player than all of our wingers other than the two Swedes (and he might be better than VA to be honest). They need to put him up on the first line, Iafallo on the 3rd line and then whoever on 4th line. It's complete lunacy to have your best shooter playing with Blake Lizotte and Brendan Lemieux.

The acting #1 line was the drizzling shits, as was the top defense pairing. The supposed leadership group isn’t showing much in terms of on-ice leadership.

We can put it on the goaltending all we want but Cal didn't allow 40+ shots on goal, the whole team was wayyyy too soft, lazy, and turnover prone. He would have had to steal that one.

He wasn't good but he was far from THE issue.

Laughable. Thats on Doughty and Kopitar especially defensively then they had a powerplay in the third where they stayed out pretty much the entire two minutes and did squat.

He needs to play better and at this rate the team needs to take a hard look at the crease this summer, but not on him. Arguable this entire game changes if Drew doesn't take himself out of defending and Kopi doesn't slide right into Cal on the 2nd goal

I agree.. i was just being realistic about where I thought he could slot in. He actually should be in the top 6 to get more minutes to get his shot off with guys who can feed him

Iafallo's play has completely cratered the last dozen or so games. If this team were a meritocracy he would be down the lineup and off of the PP. Brown gets all the criticism on this board (and he deserves most of it) but Iafallo has been just as bad recently.

I agree ive noticed it also. His hustle is always there... but he never gets his shot off.. and when he does its usually over the net.. he inaccurate shot.

Peterson isn't going to win you any games that you shouldn't win, but he doesn't lose games for you either. He keeps you in them to be won or lost by the team in front of them.

That's not good enough for a contender, but certainly not even in the bottom half of the players tonight and most definitely didn't lose the game for them tonight.

Kopitar and Doughty were really, really poor tonight and the sheer number of minutes they played meant that there were just way too many shifts lost.
