In no way should turning your back to an oncoming player absolve you of the responsibility of protecting yourself.

Bad decision making by Lemieux. It's a boarding penalty. 5 or 2 doesn't matter, Lemieux shouldn't have made that hit. To me that was equivalent to Mcdavid's boarding penalty earlier in the season.

You can have a five for boarding without the game. Needs to have a head/face injury to ear a game but I'm not sure if a little visor cut on the bridge of the nose is automatic or if the refs have discretion.

Lemieux is never going to get any favors though.
