GDT: 2021-22 season game 42 LA Kings vs New Jersey Devils @4:00pm 1/23/22

You kind of have to wonder what is the Kings plan for the year. This is a very weird way to use your players, and even weirder way to develop your future 1C. Just leave him in Ontario if he's going to watch from the bench, it's a waste of his time.
 
It's neither here nor there, I suspect all teams gripe about their coaches, but I find the disparity between our highest and lowest players' time on ice in comparison to New Jersey pretty interesting.

Forwards

Highest:
Anze Kopitar, 13:29
Nico Hischier, 11:46

Lowest:
Quinton Byfield, 6:04
Pavel Zacha, 8:17

Difference:
Kings: 7:25
Devils: 3:29

Defense

Highest:
Drew Doughty, 18:17
Jonas Siegenthaler, 16:19

Lowest:
Sean Durzi, 7:43
Colton White, 8:19


Difference:
Kings: 10:34
Devils: 8:00

The Kings are leaning heavily on two players aged 34 and 32 while the Devils are leaning on two players aged 23 and 24.

i hate carrlyn's interview questions, they're so bizarre and unanswerable. great with the fluff stuff but i don't think she belongs on the main stage when it comes to analysis

It's a road game, and they have a chance to win. You know TM isn't going to play young guys with a handful of games under their belts in that situation. He probably wouldn't play those young guys if they were down 7-0, but you know it's not happening with the game as is. It's like complaining about Kopitar not driving the net or shooting enough in 2019. Kopitar isn't that guy, and TM isn't that coach.

As of this minute, Kaliyev has the 3rd highest ice time total in the game. Maybe it's going to take Byfield 40-some games before he gets to that point. That's just who TM is as a coach.

Army is good - keeps it snappy in insightful.. Bathe - not a fan at all. Heidi Androl was much better in a similar role

she’s pretty boring Heidi androl was much better. Armstrong is pretty funny I like him

What ever happened to the last weird looking dude who covered the kings and was heavily critical of them
 
did u guys ever hear rumor DD and Heidi had a fling.. and I think either she or DD got a DUI together.. and thats why Drew is Dewey (DUI)
 
It would be the most Kings thing ever if Byfield misses time from Roy shooting a puck into his recently healed ankle :P
 
No 40 goal scorer since Luc in 1994 because the Kings play Defense or have tried too in the last 10-15 years
